Downstairs there is a second lovely bedroom and a superb kitchen. It is ideally located only 2 miles from Sandringham House, 5 minutes drive to Houghton Hall & Gardens and a short drive to the beautiful North Norfolk coast.

This beautiful area is best known for the location of Sandringham House the royal holiday home. The stunning house is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk and sits at the heart of the 20,000-acre Sandringham Estate. The beautiful gardens around the house extend to 60 acres. In spring there are displays of rhododendrons and magnolias as well as havens for bees and butterflies in the summer. Surrounding the house and gardens are the 600 acres of heath and woodland of the superb Country Park, which is open to the public daily.

There is plenty to do on a trip to Sandringham - you will need at least four hours to explore the house alone.  Walk on one of the trails, enjoy a picnic, visit the Adventure Play Area or maybe enjoy an ice cream or lunch in the Sandringham Cafe and Coffee Shop. The Estate also has an Exhibition and Transport Museum which holds an amazing collection from the very first Royal car to the 1939 Merryweather fire engine.

Sandringham village is the birthplace of Diana Princess of Wales.

The parish church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, is considered to be one of the finest carrstone buildings in existence and dates back in its present form to the 16th century. A country church of exceptional historic interest, with memorials to many members and relations of the Royal Family from Queen Victoria onwards. It is used regularly as a place of worship by the Royal Family, which normally includes Christmas.

Sandringham is conveniently situated close to the west and north Norfolk Coast. There are many beaches to explore and the west coast beaches are known for brilliant sunsets, making for a really memorable evening. Brancaster beach is superb for relaxing beach days with the family. Walk along the beach and seals can often be spotted bobbing in the inlet.

Much of this area is also an Area of Outstanding Beauty and many conservation areas teeming with birds and wildlife from RSPB Titchwell, Snettisham Nature Reserve and Holme NWT to name a few. Alternatively pop on your walking boots or bicycle as there are many routes, including the National Cycle Route, Peddars Way and Norfolk Coastal Path.

For something delicious to eat visit the Rose and Crown in Snettisham, a local gem which also boast the Norfolk Pub of the year award and just 3 miles away Thornham has some great delis and farm shops.

The cottage is so quiet and peaceful with lovely views from the top lounge. It was particularly nice to be met on arrival and shown to the cottage. Found the Everhot stove top really good to use, with its constant comfortable ambient heat. Enjoyed sitting in the private garden which caught the afternoon sun. Bed very comfortable with nice linen.

The Smith-Parsons, 21st of December 2022

A perfect cottage to stay in with good access to the coast and bird reserves and worth going off the main roads to explore many attractive villages. The cottage was so quiet (except when the helicopter came to Anmer House). We felt immediately "at home" and the unusual layout worked much better than expected.
