Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.
Visit
With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. We returned to Old School House after a fabulous stay last year. It didn’t disappoint. Had everything we needed and very comfortable. Perfect for rain or shine!
Comfortable familiar surroundings and homely feel we have stayed here before and will again.
Perfect in every way, we'll be back! Exceptionally well equipped!
We have had a wonderful stay in the beautiful house. The gorgeous weather has meant that we have been able to enjoy the garden (we even had a little game of table tennis). The fabulous location of the house meant that we could explore many beaches with just a short car journey. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.
We all had a fabulous time. The house is really well equipped and feels like home. Thank You
By far the best house we have stayed in when we have visited Burnham Market. We will definitely be back . Thank you for making our summer holidays so easy.
A wonderful place to ring in the New Year! The Old School House is beautiful, cosy and very well equipped. We loved exploring the beaches at Burnham Overy Staithe and wandering through Burnham Market and admiring the gorgeous Norfolk sky.
A WOW as we entered this lovely cottage. Very comfortable - could have stayed for much longer. Thank you for your welcome pack and the other thoughtful touches.
What an amazing break!
Everything in your beautiful home is perfect.
There isn't one detail that has not been thought of, from the amazingly equipped kitchen to the fabulous towels and linen. We have had the best stay ever and we cannot wait to return. Thank you
This is one of the best cottages we have ever been to! Location is great, the house is lovely and all the little touches around the house are absolutely lovely. Milk, butter, bread, eggs and alcohol provided on day 1 - Fantastic!
You can tell that the hosts have thought of everything. We had a lovely stay/mini honeymoon. Would highly recommend.
P.S. Food around here is also fantastic, would recommend Number 29, The White Horse, The Gin Trap, The Hosts and The Orange Tree (watch out, big portions!)
Great property - better than expected - photos don't do it justice. Great sized communal living area - so if weather bad there was plenty of room for all of us. There was more provisions there than in most holiday homes. Hopefully can come back to stay again!
Thank you for a fabulous stay in your home. We had a super time - lots of beach walks and trips to Creake Abbey. House very comfortable. Thank you. The house was beautifully clean and welcoming when we arrived.
Thank you for our stay in your lovely house. All great! Had a lovely time and relaxed to go back to life in London!
Lovely house. Comfortable bed. Well equipped house. Local store well stocked and very close. Also try Nircham Stores, lovely deli/lunch/brunch. Close to Bircham Windmill also great bakery/children's play area
What a gorgeous house! This is our second visit to Burnham Market and our first to this house. We would already like to come back. Everything possible for a wonderful stay is provided, even a pair of rubber gloves to wash up with which I usually bring! Thank you.
