When planning a staycation, we cannot wait to head to the coast and take in the sea air, if sand between your toes isn’t for you there are other ways to get some fresh air and see the sights. Often a family favourite is taking a boat to see the seascapes or the huge colonies of seals.

These traditional wooden sail boats are a beautiful way to explore the coast, sail through the changing channels and creeks of wells and Warham salt marshes. Sail out to sea and take in the wonderful views from Wells to Scolt Head Island or Revive the soul and go wild swimming, swim with the tide through the creeks. Curlew Coastal Charters – Wells
Take a tour from Well harbour on the Lucy Lavers or Ernest Tom Neathercoat, both ex lifeboats. You can choose which experience you would like a 1.5-hour history tour, an hour sightseeing tour or push the boat our and book your own private charter. Bishops Boats – Blakeney
A wonderful experience to see one of the largest seal colonies in their natural environment basking on Blakeney point. The area is managed by The National Trust and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Beans Boat Trips – Morston
Head to Morston quay and take the hour-long boat trip through the creek and out into the harbour to Blakeney point. The seal colonies are a mixture of Grey and Common seals the Grey seal have their babies between November and January and the Common seals June and August. The number of Grey seals have expanded with up to 15,000 seals during breeding season including around 5,000 seal pups. The crew are very knowledgeable and share information about the colony and other birds and wildlife during your trip.

Kings Lynn Ferry
A public transport passenger ride which runs from the historic centre of Kings Lynn to West Lynn. The ferry is ideal for commuters or a way to park out of town to avoid any traffic and have a sea trip on the way. The service runs between 7am and 6pm and cost as little at £2.30 adult return
