Guest reviews

We spent a wonderful fortnight at Violet’s cottage. It is so clean and comfortable, we can completely understand why so many guests return. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer was particularly useful during our two week stay. The cottage is in a great location for exploring Norfolk.

The Metter's, 9th of September 2024

Another fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage.Enjoyed exploring the Norfolk coast and re-visiting The Parlour.Already booked for 2025

Lynne , 30th of August 2024

This was our 3rd visit to the cottage, and we still enjoy our stay. The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Quite a selection of seaside towns within easy reach. Local pub as well as a handy tearoom ( The Parlour). We still enjoy it and have booked for next year The relaxed feeling of the cottage, including the surrounding area. The easy access to the coast, within 15 minutes, is very helpful. The outside area is good for unwinding after a hard day's walk, enjoying a few refreshments. To be fair, I can't fault the cottage or the owners for their attention to detail.Thanks.

The Carmen's, 2nd of August 2024

Super cottage in a great location. The property was everything we look for in a holiday rental. We really did feel at home. Binham benefits from a small village shop, a pub & a tea room / dairy all within walking distance of the property.Perhaps a strange one! We are not 'dog-people' & always book properties that are pet-free. We visited Houghton Hall during our stay; well worth a visit & also dog-free.

The Armstrong's, 12th of July 2024

Third visit to Violet's Cottage. Excellent accommodation living up to expectations. Good centre to visit open gardens, coast & places of interest eg Pensthorpe, Natural Surroundings & many others. The seal trip from Morston Quay was an exellent and enjoyable experience. Walk around Courtyard Farm, Ringstead.

The Hope's, 4th of July 2024

Our second visit to Violet's Cottage. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped, the cottage is in an ideal location for trips to the nature reserves and villages on the North Norfolk Coast. Perfect time of year with the hedgerows and grass verges full of blossom and wild flowers. Lovely walks around Binham as well as visits to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust centre at Cley and RSPB Titchwell. The property was top quality and our experience of Sowerbys has been very positive.

The Gregory's, 22nd of May 2024

A great property in a pleasant, just off coast location.

The Hewitson's, 13th of May 2024

Our second time staying at Violet's Cottage. We had another lovely week in Norfolk and find Binham and the Cottage a great place to base ourselves. The children also love it - always a added bonus.. Walking across to the Palour cafe for breakfast and to collect raw milk.

The Allen's, 20th of April 2024

Ideally located for walking Peddar's Way (top section) and all of Norfolk Coastal path. Highlights heard some owls hooting at night.

The Ford's, 21st of March 2024

The cottage is light and spacious; modern and well equipped, but also cosy. Very well maintained and very clean and fresh. The position is lovely and the view of the priory when you step outside each morning is glorious. Binham is close to the coast and to Holkham, so well placed for exploring North Norfolk. We like walking and found plenty of good paths on the doorstep and within a few miles of the property. We spent every day walking in the locality and it is difficult to pinpoint a "highlight" as the coast and countryside are so lovely. However, the circular Bayfield Estate walk is fantastic. It must be one of the most beautiful estates in Norfolk. Holkham beach is stunning and no matter how many times we walk it, it never fails to amaze us!

The Porter's, 13th of March 2024

Excellent cottage, well maintained, home from home. Further visits already booked. Wells coastal walk, Parlour restaurant in Binham near Priory….very good for breakfast and lunch.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and welcoming owners. Cosy, warm and comfortable with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Ideally placed opposite the outstanding Binham Priory and for exploring North Norfolk. Highly recommended. Local pub, Chequers for Sunday lunch. The Parlour for breakfast. Fantastic views from the cottage and abundant wildlife. We will be back.

The Platt's, 26th of February 2024

The Etheringtons', 2nd of October 2020

We had a perfect holiday in this cottage. We have stayed in lots around the county and this one is one of the best, if not the best. There was nothing we didn't like about the property, we would stay again!

Jarrett Party, 9th of August 2019

We have stayed in many cottages, and self catering properties, over the last 40 years or so and I don't hesitate to say this is by someway the best. In addition it has a lovely view to Binham priory, is in a great location for exploring the North Norfolk AONB. We had a problem with one of the showers and it was sorted that very day. I knew the property was of a high standard from the on-line details but it was even better than expected. The quality of the renovation in terms of build standard was great, along with the tasteful decoration and furnishing. We like Violets for the good upkeep, cleanliness, facilities provided and of course the location!

The Dentons', 8th of June 2019

Better than Expected - We liked so many lovely things, beautifully decorated and furnished. Best property we have ever stayed in.The property had so many little things that meant we didn’t need to worry about bringing certain items with us. The arrival gifts were very much appreciated along with tea bags and coffee in the cupboard. And the little surprise of hairdryers in the rooms were great too. Lovely bed linen and towels. A perfect cottage 😁
