Floorplan

Village

Sedgeford is a friendly and attractive conservation village which is situated within a designated area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by open undulating countryside, only 5 minutes drive from the stunning Norfolk coast. There is a very good local village pub called King William IV which has a lovely beer garden, garden room and restaurant, serving home-cooked food and real ales.

History

There has been a rich history recorded in the Domesday book in 1086. There are remains of Roman villas, pottery and a gold torc from the Iron Age and many earlier artefacts like Neolithic flint tools which have been found in fields and gardens. One of the historic buildings and local landmark which is on the Peddars Way route (an ancient Roman Road) is the Magazine cottage, during the civil war built by the Le Strange family as a gunpowder magazine.

Visit

Sedgeford is a great village for walkers and cyclists alike, just along from Peddars Way which provides easy access to the coast at Holme-next-the-Sea. With the nearest sandy beach and iconic stripy cliffs at Old Hunstanton just 3 miles away, the village is in a lovely location for family days out. The west coast of Norfolk is one of the only places where you can watch the sun setting over the sea, a lovely moment to capture at Heacham, Snettisham or Hunstanton beaches.

Lovely property, lots of space and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Lots of information on local walks and the mystery hunt was a bonus.Proximity to walks from the door, nice pub nearby and the enclosed garden was ideal for the dogs.

The Wright's, 1st of October 2024

We had a great week at the Old Post Office in Sedgeford. It had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beds and lovely and cozy. Great log fire which was used on one rainy day.

The Brown's, 27th of September 2024

My family of four (inc two young children under 9) had a great stay at the Old Post Office. The house is only a short drive (10-15 mins) to Brancaster beach, is very well equipped and has a lovely garden! The living room and kitchen are large and I’m sure would be very cosy in the winter with the fireplace.
We arrived to a lovely welcome box of flowers and local foods. The garden is great with the sun throughout the day. The beds were very comfortable.

The Edward's, 27th of August 2024

Lovely, comfortable cottage with everything we needed fir a relaxing stay. Great location to explore North Norfolk. Clean, comfortable cottage. Garden excellent to sit and eat in and great for dog. Beds very comfy. Great location for us.

The Hampson Family, 2nd of August 2024

The Old Post Office is a beautiful well equipped, cozy and clean cottage in a lovely village. It’s spacious and furnished to a high standard. It’s ideally situated for access to the coast and inland towns of north Norfolk. Having an enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. If the weather had been warm, we would have eaten outside as there was a large table with seating for six and picnic crockery. Upstairs there was adequate hanging and storage space. The master bedroom had an en-suite and magnificent iron bedstead. The mattresses, pillows and duvets were very comfortable. The log burner stove in the sitting room must be great in the winter months. We highly recommend the Old Post Office, in fact, we would happily live there permanently. It’s an absolute Gem.

The Allan's, 19th of June 2024

We enjoyed our 10 day stay at The Old Post office Cottage. The house was very cosy and offered everything we needed for our holiday. The close proximity to all areas in the north west coast of |Norfolk. We were blessed with good weather and good size garden.

The Quinn's, 13th of June 2024

First and foremost, the cottage, which was like a warm hug - cosy, clean and comfortable. We felt at home the minute we walked through the door. Perfect for a family Christmas. The wedding at the Town Hall in King's Lynn, was certainly the highlight of our stay and a very happy day for us all. And then, our family Christmas, with three generations, was everything we hoped and planned for. Apart from food, drinks and presents, walks along the coast were most enjoyable, especially for the geologist and naturalists among us. We should be grateful if you would convey our thanks to the owners of the cottage for the lovely Christmas decorations and for the card and wine. We very much appreciated their kindness. And, finally, a thank you to the housekeeping team for making it possible for us to arrive early.

The Capper's, 19th of January 2024

This is our second time staying in he cottage and it was as lovely as the first. So homely with everything you need, always spotless, its pleasure to stay here. Thank you

The Godson'S, 17th of November 2023

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Post Office. The property had everything you would need (and more) for a comfortable stay. Lots of room so we never felt like we were all on top of each other. It was so lovely to be able to sit out in the garden. That's such a bonus to the property. Comfortable beds as well. Plenty of seating for 6 in the lounge - the rocking chair was a huge hit! A lovely property indeed! We enjoyed exploring Holt and Norwich. Brancaster beach was very busy but the sand was beautifully soft. So many lovely towns and villages to explore in West and North Norfolk.

The Logan's, 15th of August 2023

An delightful cottage in a lovely little village. Superb, spacious accommodation which was spotlessly clean, comfy beds, comfy sofas and a private garden. Had a fabulous meal in the village pub on the first evening, the food was delicious, having recently being taken over by new owners. I would highly recommend this pretty cottage and will definitely stay again in the future. We visited Hunstanton and Brancaster whilst staying here. Both are delightful places with lovely beaches and pubs.

The Favill's, 29th of June 2023

A lovely cottage with a warm heart !!

, 26th of May 2023

Lovely cottage, probably one of the prettiest we’ve stayed in! It has a warm heart and feels loved, would recommend this property. Even though parking was across the road, we did always manage to park so this should not put people off staying here.

The Roffe's, 19th of May 2023

Cottage is in a great location to the North Norfolk beaches. We particularly loved the walk from Wells to Holkham along the beach and then back through the Pine forests. Bonus was the playing field near the village hall in Sedgeford where we could walk our dog first thing in the morning. Well equipped cottage and perfect location to explore. Welcome guide was very useful.

The Pinney Family, 4th of November 2022

A return visit to this lovely comfortable cottage! So warm and welcoming with everything you could need provided. Despite the weather becoming very autumnal, we were warm and cosy in the cottage. It was a short drive to Brancaster Beach and Thornham for fantastic dog walks and we made use of the great Chinese takeaway 5 minutes away. Will definitely be back again!

The Bennetts, 23rd of September 2022

A very spacious cottage, thoughtfully converted, beautifully furnished and retaining its rustic charm. We liked the cottage for the generous size, the fittings and furnishings, the overall cosy comfort - a true home from home. The property was perfect in every respect

The Khan's, 26th of August 2022

The cottage was absolutely lovely. The garden was beautiful as well. It had everything you could want. We had a lovely week in Sedgeford visiting our son and daughter-in-law. We will definitely be back.

The Barratt's, 25th of March 2022

Gorgeous location and property spotlessly clean at The Old Post Office. Beautiful house, spotless, gorgeous location, thoughtful welcome pack, friendly helpful owners.

The Havercroft's, 10th of September 2021

The Old Post Office was clean and Spacious and good location for North Norfolk exploring. The website was clear and accurate about the property and everything there that we needed. Lovely stay and cottage was very homely and we felt very welcomed.

The Godson Family, 27th of August 2021

What a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage! It was so comfortable and well equipped. The sitting room was spacious but cosy thanks to the lovely inglenook fireplace, which would be fabulous in the winter. The kitchen was traditional but full of all the mod cons you expect, from dishwasher to huge upright fridge/freezer. Super comfy beds and very peaceful nights sleep, as it is a quiet village. The garden is a well-tended suntrap and there are some lovely walks from the doorstep. Also had a great meal at the local pub and there is a fantastic Chinese takeaway five minutes away. It was a short drive to lots of lovely beaches - when we could drag ourselves away from the cottage. Looking forward to a return visit soon!

Gill Bennett and Family, 20th of August 2021

We were very privileged to be the first to rent this property and you certainly felt that you were staying in a much loved holiday home. We had a lovely week. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms well decorated, the sitting room very comfortable and the house very well provisioned. The information folder was comprehensive. We like to cook for ourselves and the kitchen was well equipped with an huge fridge freezer, which was a fantastic surprise, as we arrived with a weeks shopping! The garden was well maintained and a bonus. We felt instantly at home. The only drawback was the noise from the road, which was fine during the night, but the traffic starts early in the morning. This cannot be changed and didn’t stop us from enjoying the house and it’s comforts. Thank you
