In the centre of the village is the traditional White Horse pub which has a splendid garden with play area to enjoy a bite to eat on a fine day.

History

As well as various military remains from the Second World War that can be glimpsed from the Nature Reserve, the beach is famous for the 1998 discovery of a hidden Bronze Age timber circle known as ‘Sea Henge’. Now on view at Kings Lynn Museum.

Guest reviews

The spotlessly clean Meadows was the perfect location for our family get together and our two granddaughters enjoyed the walk to the coast and the grown-ups enjoyed the stop-off at the excellent pub on the way back. Hunstanton was great, with its mix of famous cliffs, sandy beach, funfair & ice creams and the wader murmuration at Snettisham was amazing. We also saw a deer in the garden! The walk to the coast from the door, the local pub which was excellent, Hunstanton and Snettisham.

Very comfortable property with lots of space. Ideally situated for us. A home from home. Perfect .We had a lovely day at the Holkham Estate to visit the walled garden which is undergoing renovation. It made a lovely change from the beach. We also revisited our normal haunts of Wells, Blankney and Hunstanton. We had two good meals at the Orange Tree in Thornham.

The Stewart's, 11th of October 2024

The Meadows is a lovely holiday home. Very comfortable and plenty of room. A holiday is made by the comfort of the beds and cleanliness. The beds were lovely with luxurious bedding and the whole bungalow was really clean. The kitchen was well stocked and a really bright comfortable lounge. The garden wraps around the bungalow and is laid to lawn and is totally secure for dogs which is lovely. We were lucky with the weather and liked being able to walk across the field plus walk to the beach.

The Winder's, 1st of July 2024

We had a really lovely stay - the Bungalow was warm & cosy, spacious and comfortable - our second stay here. Beds, bedding & sheets all luxurious , a real Joy to be back there! On arrival we were greeted by a warm, cosy environment, complete with Christmas tree, chocolates for all, a bag of logs for the wood burner and large tray for the turkey - thank goodness as we had Forgotten! Comfy sofas, plenty of space for the grandsons, especially the conservatory where they could do their drawing & make Lego! Our first Christmas away from home, and one of the best!

Lovely open living and kitchen space, opening out onto the garden. Just right for our family meet up. Vert well equipped kitchen. Made some good meals and baked a birthday cake. Frequently saw Red Kites flying over the garden. Lovely public field directly opposite the gate, with benches and picnic tables.

The Hall's, 22nd of August 2023

A family home in the middle of a small village, close to the pub and a lovely walk to the beach.
Well equipped, with a great garden big enough for a game of rounders.
Plenty of places to visit on a wet afternoon with the Grandchildren.

The Comper's, 4th of August 2023

Proximity to coastal path and other visitor attractions. Peaceful location. Bright, spacious, homely, well equipped and nicely presented property.

The Robertson's, 20th of April 2023

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely spacious bungalow. It is very well equipped to a high standard , warm with comfortable beds and good quality bed linen and towels. The garden is a good size and there is plenty of parking space. Lots of space in the bungalow, information available and games or books to read during bad weather. It is only a short distance to the White Horse pub where we were made welcome and served a good variety of meals. The beach is also close by and a handy green space opposite either for a quick walk or sit on the seats available. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location too. A big thank you and hope to return again health permitting.

The Holder's, 6th of April 2023

The Meadows was a great base for our family holiday in Norfolk. A short walk to the beach, nature reserve & the pub, with the added bonus of access to the Coastliner bus service, if we didn't want to drive. Plenty of room for our party of 6 to spread out & have their own space. Well appointed with pretty much everything required for a relaxing time.
Sunset on Holme beach. Walking to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust cafe along the coast. Sunday lunch at The Lidge in Old Hunstanton. Breakfast at The Parlour in Binham. Walking from Cley to Blakeney. Days out at BeWILDerwood in Hoveton & Holkham Hall tree walk & zipwire

The Shearmans, 31st of March 2023

A wonderful place to stay, well equipped, very nicely decorated, and bathrooms with decent sized sinks and lighting. Towels were big and fluffy, also lots of well lit mirrors. Lots of space in the entrance hall with plenty of hooks for coats. The garden and driveway were large and not overlooked. We loved our short break here and would be happy to return. We had a fantastic weekend all together which we don’t get to do very often, and everyone enjoyed staying in this wonderful house. We loved staying here and would love to return in warmer weather so we can enjoy the garden!

The Ashworth's, 15th of March 2023

Ample safe on site parking a plus point

The Wells Family, 8th of October 2021

Spaciousness of the house but also the garden, everywhere was very safe for our 1 yr old granddaughter. Lovely thick, soft, fluffy white towels. Very happy with the location and the cottage, weather changeable, but overall a wonderful family holiday after freedom from lockdown.
