Samphire Cottage is a delightful Norfolk coastal cottage, furnished in a contemporary style. Downstairs is a light and airy sociable space with a comfortable sitting/ dining area with an open working fire, leading into the well-equipped kitchen. There is an attractive rear enclosed south facing garden with lawn and terrace and the advantage of private off-road parking to the rear of the cottage. A perfectly situated holiday cottage within minutes walk of the beautiful coast, local shops and excellent local pubs and restaurants, ideal for stays throughout the year.

Ground Floor
A spacious open plan area with a hall leading into sitting area, then dining area, with the kitchen at the far end.
Kitchen: Modern and well-equipped with an integral oven and induction hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.
Dining/Sitting area: Comfortably furnished with a comfy sofa and two armchairs, wood burning stove, Smart T.V. with Netflix, digital radio and Wi-Fi. There is a dining table with five chairs.
Bathroom: has a power shower over the bath, hand basin and WC.
There is a door to the stairs (which have a hand rail and are not steep).
There is a hairdryer in the cottage.
First Floor
Bedroom 1: Lovely room with distant sea views. There's a double bed, bedside table and lamps and wardrobe. In the wardrobe there is also an electric fan
Bedroom 2: Twin beds, bedside tables and lamps, bluetooth speaker and wardrobe.
Bedroom 3: Cosy room with 2'6" bed, bedside table and lamp, clock radio and tall boy chest.
Outside
Fully enclosed private south facing lawned garden with an apple tree. There's a patio area with outside furniture and charcoal barbecue. There is off-road parking to the rear of the cottage. Only minutes walk to the harbour and coastal path at Brancaster Staithe, the Jolly Sailor pub, The White Horse restaurant and the Deepdale local shops.
The Coasthopper bus stops nearby and provides an excellent service along the coastal road, so you can walk to another village and catch the bus back!

Village and Harbour
Brancaster Staithe is the coastal village nestled between Brancaster and Burnham Deepdale which flow into one almost continuous settlement. The village boasts a picturesque fishing harbour with sailing club with sailing school, two lovely pubs, The White Horse with outside dining that looks over the Staithe and has a great seasonal menu. The Jolly sailors which boasts a national family pub award, they have an outside eating area, play area and serve delicious pizza as well as putting on music events as well as an Ale festival. Near the harbour is the National Trust Activity Centre, just off the coastline is the Scolt Head Island National Nature reserve as off shore 4 mile long sand bar that extends from Brancaster to Wells-next-the-Sea. You can take a boat trip with Branta Cruises to visit the island, also great for bird watching so take your binoculars. Be sure to pop to The Fish Shed for some lovely sea food and the famous Brancaster Mussels.
On the Door Step
Burnham Deepdale merges with Brancaster Staithe and has the Dalgate Market shops, cafe, great for breakfast, tourist information and bike hire. Annual Spring Market, 1940’s weekend and The charming Christmas Market are some of the events you can visit at Dalgate market
With the Norfolk coastline being one of the most diverse in the country many of the beaches have something different to offer. The Coastal Path makes for beautiful scenic walks to take in the sea air. There is some great wildlife form the many Nature reserves, Titchwell, The Lookout in Holkham Nature Reserve and Cley Marshes Visitors Centre to name a few. Some more unusual animal encounters might be the Llamas in Wells or the beautiful seal trips from Blakeney or Morston.

Pretty perfect. Everything you could want, very well equipped, comfortable and clean. The marshes, and how easy it is to stroll to them from the cottage.
Fabulous week at this delightful property. This has been the latest of several stays at Samphire Cottage and we hope to return next February. Warm, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to stay in north Norfolk . Great weather and good walking. The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors within walking distance ! The best!!
Pretty, well equipped cottage. Comfy beds and everywhere was spotless. Great location for exploring. We've stayed in lots of your cottages and rate this one very highly for when it's just the two of us. Brancaster beach walk and seal family, Sunset cruise from Wells, Burnham Overy Staithes for long walks, Holkham and Holt. Local pubs serve delicious food.

Had a lovely stay at Samphire Cottage in Brancaster Straithe. The cottage was so comfortable, very clean and very well equipped. The cottage is in an ideal location for travelling around the Norfolk coast. We will be back. Location of the cottage was great, with two lovely pubs to visit for dinner. Possible improvements: Everything was provided. Owners had really thought through what was needed in the cottage to make a very comfortable stay.
Beautifully appointed cottage. Comfy and warm. We had a lovely week and will be in touch to book 2025. Handy for Holkham Woods/beach as well as other dog friendly places locally. Samphire Cottage is beautifully situated between The Jolly Sailors and The White Horse pubs, which are both dog friendly. Lots of birdwatching too. I cannot praise this cottage enough. This is our 4th or 5th stay and we are never disappointed.
We have spent yet another wonderful week in Samphire Cottage. Always a pleasure to return to this wonderfully equipped, cosy cottage which is so convenient for all the walks around. Also convenient for The Jolly Sailors and The White Horse! We are back in February 2024. Spotlessly clean cottage with everything we needed for a lovely stay in Samphire Cottage. The cottage is extremely well equipped, warm and very comfortable. The garden is secure and well maintained, including a hose and sink for hosing down dirty dog and boots. We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to our family and friends. Thank you for the wine, milk and delicious biscuits. Looking forward to our November stay.
Good weather for the time of year and we managed to get out every day for some great walks and birdwatching. Holkham Beach and Woods, Wells Woods, Titchwell RSPB and Holme Next the Sea being our favourites. The White Horse Bar was excellent for food and The Jolly Sailors do a great pizza. We love Norfolk.

Fabulous cottage - recently refurbished to a high standard and I wouldn't change anything! All rooms were really lovely and a visit in the summer would mean you could use the lovely garden too. Lovely to be able to light the fire as we were there in December - really cosy.

All Sowerbys holiday cottages are supplied with bed linen and towels and the cost of heating is included in the rental price.
Electric Vehicle charging
Cars may only be charged if there is an EV charging point fitted at the property. The cost of electricity is NOT included in the rental price and Sowerbys Holiday Cottages must be notified if the charger is used and an additional surcharge will be made. Due to insurance purposes, guests must never charge their car using a standard outdoor plug or an extension cable linking to a domestic plug. This is not permitted because of fire regulations regarding wiring, earthing rods and voltage restrictions; it poses a serious fire risk to standard 13 amp sockets and there is a real danger that the body of the vehicle could become live.
