Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

The Pearson's, 9th of January 2024

A lovely cosy cottage in a great location. The cottage has a lovely feel and is warm and comfortable. It’s beautifully decorated in keeping with the age and style of the property. We really enjoyed our stay here. The heating and hot water were easy to control and readily available. The lounge and bedrooms were lovely rooms to relax and sleep in. The dining area is also a well thought out area and we enjoyed eating and playing games at the table. We normally stay in a larger property but as there are only three of us we decided to choose a smaller property for this October break and we are very pleased we chose Rose Cottage.

The Handley's, 28th of October 2023

The Tower's, 29th of August 2023

Central location.V Cosey cottage with a bonus of pretty courtyard garden. Garden table and chairs were occupied for breakfast and BBQ, using BBQ provided, most days. Comfy king sized bed. Stairs were not a problem to go down at night to visit the ground floor bathroom. Definitely return to Rose Cottage.
Thank You. Central location with lots of little alley ways to discover the village. Welcomed with the dog into the Italian coffee shop for breakfast. The Hoste and No 29 good food and lovely to start your evening with a glass of wine sitting outside watching the world go by. Regular buses if you didnt want to drive. Well worth a trip to Burnham Overy Staithe,Wells & Blakeney. Great holiday perfect location and wall to wall sunshine. Its good to be alive!

The Cook's, 29th of June 2023

A delightful and cosy cottage, perfectly located for all the village has to offer, as well as beaches and places of interest further afield.. We always live visiting north Norfolk, particularly Holkham beach. We would stay again.

The Masters, 8th of April 2023

Perfect cosy cottage, ideally located, with a very pretty garden that traps the sunlight. Everything was clean, well maintained and the cottage is well equipped. Highlights were walking to the Hoste for drinks by the fire. Long walks on Brancaster, Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham and Stiffkey. Fish Pie from Gurney's, Lamb and aubergine curry from Humble Pie.Despite being a popular holiday destination, Burnham Market and the North Norfolk coast always provides the space and peace we are looking for, but we only go between autumn and spring. We really loved building a fire in the wood burner each night.
