History
The village of Old Hunstanton was named in the Domesday book at ‘Hunestanestada’, it later became part of the Le Strange family estates. The parish church of St Mary is situated in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall (Grade 1 listed) home to the Le Strange family for centuries.
Visit
A great area for walkers and cyclists, close to the Peddars Way footpath as well as the National Cycle Route and the neighbouring Hunstanton town and the quiet villages of Holme-next-the-Sea and Ringstead. Just a short drive away is the royal residence of Sandringham Estate. Further along the North Norfolk Coastal Path the pretty villages of Thornham and Brancaster can be found, with many nature reserves along the way including RSPB Titchwell. The pretty Georgian village of Burnham Market with a range of independent shops surrounding the leafy village green is also a popular destination.

Our third stay at Old Hunny Cottage and we hope to return. Great location, very clean and spacious. The conservatory is lovely and we spend a lot of time in the evenings relaxing after spending time in fabulous Norfolk. It is simply our "Happy Place"!Highlights, there are so many to mention. The cottage is great because you can leave the car at home, with easy access to a great beach, fab food, activities such as pitch and putt, Hunstanton itself and along the coast via the Coast Hopper. We have visited Norfolk every year now for over 15 years and it is just one of our favourite places. The Cottage now feels like home.
A comfortable and well-equipped cottage ideally located just a couple of minutes walk away from Norfolk's best dog beach. Easy access to local amenities and everything you need for a stress-free holiday. Location was superb - stayed at Low Tide last year which, although lovely, had us much more reliant on the car. This time around didn't use the car once. Old Hunny Cottage was very nicely presented and equipped, had literally everything we needed. Little touches like the Nespresso, wine, milk and sundries very much appreciated. Just thanks, it really was a wonderful holiday.
Old Hunny Cottage is in a perfect location for walking to the lovely local beach and very accessible to good restaurants and cafes. The space is cosy and well equipped and was ideal for 2 of us and our dog.We have loved this part of Norfolk for many years and although Wells and Holkam are the obvious stunning beaches our favourite is Brancaster beach and the walk across the Staithes. We enjoyed Sandringham's shady woodland walks and we found delicious places to buy food and drink locally. Lovely relaxing area with amazing skies and plenty of birds and wildlife.
The location of the cottage is just perfect. Everything is within walking distance and our dogs so enjoyed their many beach walks. The cottage was well equipped. Location of cottage Old Hunstanton beach walks.Eating out at The Beach cafe, The Hero and Mariners Inn.
We had a very lovely stay. The property is in a great location for walking the dog. It was comfortable, with easy parking . Walking on the beach and relaxing by the log fire.
Keep coming back , just a lovely cosy cottage with everything we need . Brilliant for dog when coming back from the beach as keep him in the conservatory to dry off . Will definitely be back.
Lovely very well equipped cottage in a great location. Ideal for the beach and a great base for visiting North Norfolk. Very dog friendly area.
Our second visit to Hunny cottage , very convenient for the beach, the excellent beach cafe, shop opposite. Just right for a retired couple.
Another lovely stay in a perfect location. House very well equipped.
Lovely cottage with everything you need for a great holiday. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise.couldnt improve on anything everything was good.
A good clean well equipped cottage well situated for walks and beaches, our highlights were visiting Titchwell reserve and walking along the dunes.
Thanks for another great holiday. The conservatory was a great room and due to the fab weather, we mainly used that in the evenings, it looks into the lovely private garden. Location is great and it is the third time we have stayed on Erpingham Court. There was everything we needed.
We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay at Old Hunny Cottage. I have got to say how delighted we were with every aspect of the cottage. We arrived during the storm and Old Hunny was warm, immaculately clean and what a lovely touch with wine, biscuits, and wood for the fire. Sowerbys sent us lots of pre stay information which was greatly appreciated. Please convey our thanks to the lady who cleaned the cottage prior to our stay, she does a brilliant job. We look forward to booking again with Sowerbys holiday cottages and we shall certainly recommend you to our friends.
After holidays in Hunstanton on and off over 40 years with children and now grand children this is probably the best one that I have seen. We liked the location and conservatory. Looking to book again next year.

We liked the proximity to beach & other amenities plus the size of rooms, they are much larger than they look in the online photos We loved the place & would definitely return.
