Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

This was our third stay in Mallards and it never disappoints, beautiful property in a great location. Being back on the North Norfolk Coast. Eating in the Three Horseshoes in Warham - wonderful friendly service and amazing pies.

The Clarke's, 22nd of May 2024

A very lovely spacious house with a very comfortable feel. Always immaculate. Situated in the perfect position with a south facing garden.

Brenda, 10th of May 2024

One of the best houses for rent in the village. Great position, easy parking and lots of space. Great meals at No 29 and Socious.

The Burke's, 9th of May 2024

Exceptional property, exquisitely presented, a real home from home. Wonderful setting in the village with all local amenities close by. Very comfortable beds, quiet and relaxing holiday close to the beautiful north Norfolk beaches. The property itself is so welcoming, making you almost wish for bad weather so you can spend the day in the house. The stunning local walks from the doorstep and excellent food and drink at the The Hoste Arms and Number 29, well worth visiting. By far the best holiday home we have stayed in, exceptional throughout, thank you to yourselves and the owners for allowing us to stay at Mallards.

The Surtees, 12th of February 2024

The Farren's, 4th of October 2022

Lovely comfortable House in a great location. Very well equipped, easy parking and a very short distance to all the amenities of Burnham Market. Great place to stay. We stayed for two weeks. The mid stay clean was exceptional. A meal at Socius is a must and great beaches to walk the dog on.

The Evans group, 30th of September 2022

It was better than we expected and a lot larger than we had thought. The furniture was very comfortable. It was close to the village centre but also in a quite area with its own parking. Cleanliness was 10 out of 10, and the garden was 10 out of 10.

The Burke's, 14th of May 2021

Better than Expected. The Mallards is a beautiful place. Huge kitchen with Aga and a standard cooker. Bedrooms are spacious, plenty of storage. Bathrooms are all spacious and well decked out. Location is perfect, being right in the centre of Burnham Market couldn't be better plus getting to the beach is within 10 minutes away.
