Village
Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.
Visit
With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

We have had the most wonderful week at Hares End and experienced the best of north Norfolk- the beaches, the fens, wildlife, some great pubs & restaurants (The Nelson & No.Twenty 9), very creative local crafts and a warm welcome from everyone we’ve met.The house is one of the best we have ever stayed in, spotless, well equipped, fabulous location and very peaceful. Welcome pack also appreciated. Too many highlights to mention! But Brancaster beach; Thornham beach; Holkham walks; Burnham Overy Staithe & Old Hunstanton are definitely up there. The meal at Number Twenty 9 was fantastic.
Immaculate! The cleanest house we have ever stayed at. I am very picky, when it comes to cleaning and there was nothing I could fault at all. We particularly liked the layout with plenty of seating areas. The house was in a perfect location within 5/10 minute walk into Burnham Market.
Absolutely loved Hares End. Everything had been thought of and the place was absolutely spotless. The owners were so helpful and the food hamper on arrival was a lovely surprise. Lovely secure garden for our dogs. We highly recommend this property. Highlights, everything! the place was spotless and we had everything we needed.
A well presented and clean house, good location , good size garden for us & our dogs. The House had everything we needed for our stay. Highlights garden and ease of getting into town.
Very comfortable and well appointed house. A special mention should be made of whoever is responsible for cleaning - it was immaculate. Stay highlights the space.
Beautifully clean bungalow with everything you need for A Christmas stay with 6 people and a dog. Lovely large Range oven and large fridge. Well equipped with comfy beds. Lovely wood burner, comfy beds and extra lounge area a bonus with 6 people.
A perfect home-from-home, a great base to explore North Norfolk. The house is in a beautiful, quiet spot not too far from local amenities and the centre of the village. We were really impressed with the quality of everything in the property, and so much was provided - including a lovely welcome pack, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, doggy supplies, etc. - much more than we've experienced before. The garden was perfect for our dog, 100% secure. The property was super clean throughout and a real delight to spend time in. A very comfortable home to relax in. Spending time in the garden on sunny evenings. Having an on-site EV charger. Visits to Sandringham, Blakeney, Wells and Brancaster. The local Chinese take away! (Panda Kitchen).
Beautiful large, light and airy property. We really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable stay, not too far from the town of Burnham Market. Lovely walks at nearby beaches. Fabulous meal at Socius. Enjoyed barbecuing in the garden.
An excellent stay in a beautiful location in Burnham Market. Our superb bungalow was very clean and comfortable with special attention given to all the mod cons that anyone would want. A relaxing week visiting Titchwell, Holkham Beach, Thornham, Wells-next-to-Sea, Cley, Fakenham and two National Trust properties. Hares End is ideally located for visiting many places and returning to our peaceful accommodation. We were welcomed by the owner Michael with a delicious welcome pack which was much appreciated. We cannot fault the property design and layout, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen and cleanliness.
We loved the welcome food gift! The layout of the garden, that provided seating areas throughout the day that followed the sun from morning to evening. Also was in a nice quiet location
So spacious, clean and well-appointed. Made our stay so relaxing. Also a nice, quiet location, but close enough to stroll into Burnham Market. I was not sure about staying in a bungalow when we booked this property, but it suited us extremely well.
Lovely property, better than we expected. Furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Beautifully presented property in a nice quiet, convenient location.
The photographs really do not show the exceptional standards of this cottage, I would highly recommend it was immaculate. We loved the very high end fixtures and fittings and very well equipped. Without doubt, the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.
