Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

Very nice property, well looked after. At the high end of its price bracket.

The Cliff's, 9th of January 2024

Extremely comfortable and well provisioned holiday cottage for two. Imagine it would come into its own in summer, when the French doors could open out onto the patio. But perfectly warm and cosy in winter. All Burnham Market’s facilities literally minutes from the door. Perfect! All our usual North Norfolk pleasures, climaxed by a trip on the Welcome Ferry from Overy Staithe to Gun Hill.

The Pearson's, 1st of November 2023

Lovely accommodation. Clean and warm close to all amenities. Really appreciated use of garage to lock away bikes.

The Lucy's, 19th of October 2023

A compact property set in a quiet location but close to all the amenities that Burnham Market has to offer. A very quiet and enclosed courtyard garden which we fully utilised throughout our stay. The excellent public transport network was an added bonus.

The Bentley's, 1st of September 2023

Had a thoroughly good holiday break in Garden Folly. The property was ideal for two people and the location in Burnham Market could not have been better. Seal spotting in Blakeney.

The Carter's, 29th of August 2023

We loved our stay at Garden Folly. It was cosy, peaceful and very well maintained. A retreat tuvked away from all the hustle and bustle. A stones throw away from the local supermarket and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Burnham Matket with it's lovely independent shops, restaurants and village green. It was the perfect location to access all that North Norfolk has to offer, from stately homes, beautiful beaches, circular walks to nature reserves and much much more. We will be back for sure! We loved the variety of things to see and do in the local area and the peace of coming back to Garden Folly - reminded us of a private super size beach hut.

The Patel's, 22nd of August 2023

We have enjoyed another wonderful week in Burnham Market. Garden Folly provided a perfect base from which to enjoy all that the area has to offer. The property was warm, comfortable and well equipped. Due to its location, just off the main road, we noticed how quiet it was and we were very appreciative of the parking space and the possibility of safe storage for our bikes. We enjoyed the town, as always, for browsing its shops and 'watching the world go by' while sipping a coffee. It was easy to pick up supplies at the various delis/butcher/grocery and we also treated ourselves to meals at '29' and The White Horse, Brancaster (pre-booked). Travelling further afield we walked by the sea at Brancaster, Burnham Overy Staithe, Holme and Cley, walked at Holkham and visited Holt, cycled around the area and ran locally. The beer from local breweries went down well! This is the sixth Sowerbys property we have stayed in and was, once again, excellent.

The Hipwells, 21st of October 2022

Very comfortable for two small people. Well equipped. Good location near the lovely village, great meal at Twenty9, local bird reserves, Brancaster beaches.
