Village
Fring is a perfect village to enjoy a peaceful get away. A very small inland rural hamlet close to the village of Docking with a tiny population of less than 100 in approximately 41 households.
An ideal village for enjoying the countryside walks, dog walks and bike rides. The popular Peddars Way walking and cycling route passes close to the village of Fring. All Saints' Church dates back to the 14th century, was restored in 1897 and has 19th century roofs. Inside is an octagonal 13th century font. There are superb 14th century wall paintings including a painted niche, the Annunciation, St John the Evangelist and St Christopher. The west tower has a pretty lozenge shaped west opening. On the edge of the churchyard are said to be ruins of a possible cell for the priory of Norwich.
Visit
Just 10 minutes away from the beautiful North Norfolk coastline, close to the village of Sedgeford and West Norfolk beaches of Heacham, Snettisham and Hunstanton. Much of the coastline is a area of outstanding Natural Beauty, RSPB reserves of Snettisham and Titchwell and Nature Reserves of Ringstead Downs and Holme Dunes.

Comfortable cottage in a beautiful, peaceful area. Our dogs loved the field at the rear. Walks on the many beaches and pub lunches, all close by.
As usual the property was very comfortable and one can see the owner is constantly renewing and upgrading. This is our favourite place to stay in Norfolk.
Lovely break. Cottage was beautiful. Clean and welcoming. Highly recommend. We enjoy seeing hares, grey partridges and the peaceful setting
Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, great for dogs, we all really enjoyed the 3 acre fields especially the dogs.
Perfect quiet setting within easy distance to the beaches and woods and plenty of room, We’ve already booked again for next year
We've visited the cottage before and love it. The new garden design and planting is lovely. we like the quiet and the wildflower meadow. We love the cottage and are already planning our 2022 visit
At Field Cottage in Fring The house was more spacious than expected and we liked the amount of outside space great for a family and dogs. Excellent welcome pack really easy to use and loved the fact the owner had personalised it with information about the house and garden. Lovely house in a fantastic location. The garden and meadow make this house its like being in your own tranquil bubble away from it all. Would highly recommend.
Field Cottage in Fring was better than expected the views, the field. The cottage was well equipped, with excellent bed linen, log fires and good lighting. We have booked for next year.
It’s in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The inside is comfortable and well equipped and the garden and meadow are lovely. Please pass on our thanks to the owners, we had a lovely stay in their fabulous cottage.
An absolutely lovely cottage in a brilliant location. We have stayed at the cottage several times before before - so all as expected! Field Cottage in Fring is spacious, has a good 'flow' of rooms and is decorated in a style I really like.
10 out of 10 for cleanliness 10 out of 10 for the garden Very comfortable and well equipped
Had a wonderful holiday. Thank you
Lovely light and airy cottage, with a fabulous garden for the dogs.
We have been staying in this cottage for a number of years and fully intend to continue in the future.
We came for our Christmas together and it has been wonderful and exceeded expectations. Our two older lady dogs loved the field - more exercise that they want these days. We loved the house and the generosity of the logs, that really made a huge difference to us, it meant we could stay ensconced for days at a time, perfect. Thank you, the little touches make all the difference, loved the sound system for all of our Christmas music. A perfect week. Hope you'll hae us back next year.
This cottage was perfect for us it exceeded expectations.
A lovely comfortable, homely, cosy but light cottage.
The little touches, lovely linen and towels amd even the bars of soap were nice.
Also, well stocked with cleaning supplies.
I was so happy with the log shed, the chance to have an open fire is the first thing we look for when we are booking and the fact we that we didn't have to keep going out to buy logs was a revelation.
Loved it, take me Back!
We have been staying at this cottage since you first advertised it, so 5 or 6 times so far.
We love it's position, light and space. It is perfect for the dogs and very comfortable.
A lovely cottage and we look forward to our next visit.
Just spent two lovely weeks in Field Cottage. Second time here, gorgeous spacious yet cosy cottage - fires very popular though not really needed. Great views from every window just total relaxation, just what was needed. Great wildlife to be seen, barn owl, pheasants, quails, hares .. fantastic. Loved the meadow - one word of warning that even with 3 acres to run in our border collie easily got under 5 bar gate into next door. Loved it, will be back.
Have already stayed at this cottage and liked it so much that have returned for a second visit
Very clean
Very secluded property but still accessible to all of North Norfolk. Cottage itself is a delight very spacious but still homely, well decorated, VERY clean, loved the open fires, garden an absolute delight wildlife to be seen at any time day or night - pheasants, hares, barn owls, quails.
Our second stay here and we loved it. The children enjoyed a meadow walk before bed and fruit picking! A great base to see North Norfolk from. We've been to Wells, Brancaster, Hunstanton and various villages in between. We can thoroughly recommend the Lodge at Old Hunstanton for a great lunch! Quote from Oliver (age 8) - Lovely house, great meadow and a fab place for the house to be built! I love it here! Quote from Imogen (age 5) - We had a big meadow and saw hares in the field and I like that!
Our third visit to Field Cottage and just as lovely as it was last Summer. My favourite ever holiday cottage; great layout, beautifully decorated, ideal location in the country yet just 10 minutes to the coast. Very lucky with the weather - blue skies and sunshine all week, bar one rainy afternoon. Highlights - afternoon in Swaffham (beautiful angel ceiling in church, good butchers, antique shops) plus a return to Houghton Hall gardens (surprisingly quiet on a Sunday afternoon in late September).
Well, we're packing up somewhat reluctantly having had a very enjoyable short break. The cottage suited us perfectly - we've appreciated the comfy beds and welcoming log burners. Its been great having the field for the dogs, they've enjoyed wandering around taking in the smells. On the whole we've been lucky with the wether - 2 gloriously sunny days and we've missed most of rain. We'll definitely consider a return visit and will have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to friends (in fact we booked following a recommendation from the Waits).
