North Creake
Location
A charming village approximately 3 miles inland from Burnham Market and 10 minutes drive to the beautiful coast at Burnham Overy Staithe.
North Creake is home to the historic site of Creake Abbey which was an Augustine priory founded in 1206, where ruins now remain. Here some of the outbuildings have been used to house Creake Abbey Studios which holds an award winning farmers' market on the first Saturday of each month and is now recognised as a centre for artistic talent in North Norfolk. Here there is a wonderful collection of paintings, jewellery, home furnishing and garden accessories. There is a fantastic new Cafe and Food Hall, run by the local chef Alison Yetman, serving delicious lunches throughout the week and also evenings on Fridays and Saturdays throughout July and August.
There is a good local pub - The Jolly Farmers - which serves locally sourced home-cooked food throughout the week.
