Village

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

Visit

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. Guest reviews

The downstairs was very spacious for our large family and the entrance hall excellent for coats, wellies etc. Location, close to the park and the town centre.

The Scheinkonig 's, 10th of June 2024

We were a family of 10 and found the cottage very spacious for our needs. Everywhere was very clean and well presented. We were 10 adults and did find the children’s room very small but we knew that when booking. Would recommend this property but perhaps not for 10 adults!! Adequate parking which is a bonus in Burnham. In prime location for shops and pubs.

We had another wonderful stay at Creake Road Cottage. Perfectly situated for the village of Burnham market and the many beaches along the coastline. The wonderful accommodation and amenities made the most amazing weekend for us all. We will be back again! Huge thanks from us all at Stoney Stanton tennis club!

The Dexter's, 6th of April 2023

Better than Expected. The property had more space than I expected in the extension. A handy second freezer/fridge and utility, which we doubled as a bedroom for a travel cot.. it was perfect for 2 families and grandparents ! 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. It was tip top. Thank you Plenty of parking, close to the centre and enough bathrooms The service from sowerby’s, the Christmas tree and cake were wonderful touches

We thought this was an ideal holiday house with good-size accommodation, a pleasant garden, a quiet location but close to all amenities, plenty of parking space for 3 cars and the playing field was a bonus for those football enthusiasts in our party and for kite-flying.
