History
Thornham is named after the Old English meaning ‘homestead or village where the thorn trees grow’. The village has a rich history and many of the buildings date back to the 16th Century. Archaeological evidence dates as far back as the Bronze Age. The village had a prosperous harbour 200 years ago and a fascinating story of a smugglers Inn and a bandit’s hideout.

Lovely big family home close to dog walks and local restaurants and Deli. We love the Norfolk beaches.
The house is lovely, comfortable, and very well equipped. Commodores House is in a great position, off the main road so beautifully quiet and a pub round the corner for a very good Sunday Lunch etc. There are also walks just outside the door which we found so easy to do and enjoy. It really is a birds paradise.
Great property in an excellent location. All the facilities worked well and were of a good standard. It was great being able to walk to the excellent Thornham Deli and 2 pubs, whilst access to the Norfolk Coastal Path, Thornham Harbour and Holme Beach is right on the doorstep. Saw some amazing wildlife within a mile or so of the property. The excellent location of the property giving us really easy access to great walks for us and our dog.
What an absolutely wonderful house didn’t want to leave and will most certainly be back. On immediately entering the property we were struck with the decore and quality of all furnishings and fittings . Every possible item in the kitchen you could wish for although we were away for my special Birthday so not a lot of cooking done . So warm and cosy for such a large property . All absolutely wonderful . Thankyou.
Lovely house as always. Surrounding area beautiful. Always something to look at or somewhere new to visit.
