Where there are chutneys and pork pies, there should also be cheese and Mrs Temple’s is the stuff of Norfolk legend. Handmade, using milk from local cows, the range includes a soft Wighton, a mozzarellaesque Melton, Edam-style Warham, a creamy hard, Walsingham and even a ‘Binham Blue’.

Based near Burnham Market and run by Sally Francis, Norfolk Saffron started in 1997 when she was bought 20 saffron corms as a birthday present. Using the family’s smallholding, which it has farmed since 1934, the company is now England’s leading commercial saffron producer and sold locally and online.
