Routes to check out

Norfolk coast cycleway – King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth

Following the Sustans National Cycle Network (route 1), the Norfolk Coast Cycleway is a 92-mile network which runs parallel to the coast from King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth. Regional route 30 maps the path from King’s Lynn to Wighton and then continues on to Great Yarmouth. With route markers to follow, there’s always a pretty village nearby to stop at for refreshments once you have worked up an appetite.

Peddars Way

One of 16 National Trails in England and Wales, this 46-mile cycle route follows the original Roman Road from Knettishall Heath Country Park in Suffolk to Holme-next-the-Sea, where it meets the Norfolk Coast Path which can be followed to Cromer. The trail is ideal for both beginners and experienced cyclists.

Park life

If you want to pedal off-road or have young riders in your party who are less than confident on the road, there are many miles of parkland to explore

Holkham Hall

The NCN route 1 brings you straight to the centre of Holkham Park. Ride past the Lake, Obelisk and Palladian Hall in seven miles of woodland. You can also hire cycles at Holkham from March to October – see www.holkham.co.uk for details.

Holt Country Park

Situated around the River Glaven in nearly 100 acres of woodland, there are several trails to explore.

Sandringham Country Park

The NCN route 1 runs through the park, so explore the Queen’s estate and refuel at the Visitor’s Centre.

Sheringham Park

A short distance from the coast, Sheringham Park is a National Trust-owned estate with cycling permitted on three of its woodland trails.
