Our second time in Crab Cottage this year, and a very welcome retreat from the fast pace of London life. Both the cottage and Norfolk are as lovely in Winter as in Summer. The cottage is so comfortable, quiet and cozy, it really is a pleasure to stay here. It's such a wonderful place to come back to after a long beach walk.
We are sad to be leaving and with definitely be back.

We have really enjoyed our stay in your very comfortable, cosy cottage, Ideally situated for our walk along the coast path. We love the "feel", the buzz of Wells and have enjoyed exploring the area. Made good use of the excellent bus service! All in all, cottage and area - 5 star rating!

We have loved our stay in Crab Cottage. It is great to have tasteful art work and a pretty garden as bonuses to a comfortable home. I feel sad whenever we leave Wells so hoping we can return soon.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in lovely and tranquil Crab Cottage. It was our first holiday with our 9 week old son "Harry" and the well equipped cottage made our stay a breeze. We have loved spending time in the beautiful garden too. We recommend this cottage and Wells and will be back.

Thank you for this cottage - we thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, especially the garden and the conservatory. This is our 4th trip to the area in recent years, and Crab Cottage is most definitely the best place we have stayed - great location, quiet, very comfortable and with the added bonus of bunnies in the garden.
We will definitely be back again!
Thank you for sharing your holiday home.

We were "blown away" from the moment we walked through the door!
Lovely garden to sit in (weather permitting!). Having an open fire was so cosy and relaxing in the evenings. Everything we needed here for a thoroughly enjoyable break.

Lovely to stay in with some charming finishing touches. Nicely situated away from the busy (Bank Holiday) centre of Wells but within easy walking distance. Wells is a perfect base for bird watching visits to Tichwell and Cley. The conservatory was lovely to sit in and relax. A great holiday all round!

Wells-next-the Sea is the runaway winner of the first Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" award. It's a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with fishing boats still berthed in this small harbour and stalls selling locally caught shrimps, crabs and whelks. A popular place with sailors with many sailing and leisure craft here and local sailing tuition available. Children enjoy the facilities round the quay and the challenge of crabbing (gillying) from the steep harbour wall.
The main shopping area of Wells is Staithe Street, a narrow, mostly pedestrianised lane with surviving Victorian and Edwardian shop fronts, that runs from the water's edge right up to the top part of town. In the centre of the town is The Buttlands which is a large rectangular green lined with Georgian and late Victorian houses, which used to be used for archery practise in medieval days. Now it is home to the excellent Crown hotel and restaurant which is run by Kiwi celebrity chef
The sandy beach flanked by pine forest is about a mile from the quay and can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.
Holkham Hall with its impressive 18th century Palladian architecture and 3,000 acre deer park is only a couple of miles away along the coast road.
