Hope Cottage is a gorgeous early 16th century Norfolk brick and flint cottage, extended and refurbished to the highest possible standard with the addition of a fabulous new garden room, resulting in undoubtedly one of the best cottages for two in the North Norfolk area, with a prestigious 4 star gold award from Visit England. It is ideally situated in a peaceful off-road location with beautifully landscaped gardens, on the edge of Redwell marshes and the Peddars Way with lovely views across the marshes towards the sea, making it the perfect luxurious hideaway throughout the year for anyone interested in walking, bird-watching or simply wanting to escape. It is also within easy walking distance of an old smugglers' pub, The White Horse, as mentioned in "The Lawless Coast", book which is available in the cottage to read.
Accommodation
Ground Floor
Entrance into Sun Room: lovely room with bi-fold glazed doors overlooking the garden. There is a wood-burning stove and underfloor heating to ensure that this room is warm and comfortable throughout the year. Tastefully furnished with a dining table and two chairs, wicker sofa and armchairs - perfect for relaxing, dining and enjoying the view. There's a door (lockable) leading into the kitchen.
Kitchen: Well-equipped with a built-in electric oven with halogen hob, microwave and slim-line dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine (pods not supplied). There is a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and a breakfast bar with two stools. This leads through into:
Hallway - With the Wifi modem.
Sitting Room: Lovely room with original beamed ceiling and a wood-burning stove. A wood starter pack is supplied from Ocober - March. There's a leather sofa with a wall-mounted flat screen Smart TV and Blu-ray DVD player.
Shower Room: with a fully enclosed shower with drencher head, hand basin, WC, heated towel rail and a heated floor.
New Garden Room: fabulous high ceilinged room with exposed beams and bi-fold glazed doors opening out to the attractive landscaped garden. Lovely place to sit and relax with a comfy leather sofa, armchair, coffee table, a Smart TV and DAB digital radio.
First Floor
Bedroom: Beautifully presented room with original beamed pitched ceiling and distant sea views. There is a double bed, bedside tables and lamps, chair, dressing table, hanging space and fitted high level TV with remote control.
The bedding provided is a mix of feather and hypo-allergenic pillows and duvet - please ask if you have any specific requests.
There's a door leading out to the newly created decked balcony which enjoys lovely uninterrupted rural views out towards the sea.
There is a hairdryer in the cottage.
Outside
Please be aware that there is a security camera to the front of the property to cover the driveway, oil tank and parking areaAccess is via a quiet lane into a shingle driveway with parking for 2 cars.
Hope Cottage has an attractive newly landscaped enclosed garden with floodlights, which is mainly lawned and backs onto the marshes. In the garden is a restored outside loo! There's an outside table and chairs, a charcoal barbecue and a pretty summer house as well as garden benches to sit and enjoy the peaceful location. There is a public footpath near to the cottage with direct access onto the Peddars Way and the Norfolk coastal path.
Please note that if you do wish to bring a dog (subject to max 2 dogs) to Hope Cottage, the owners have requested a £50.00 (per dog, per week) dog supplement, they have also stated that dogs should not be left unattended in the cottage and stay/sleep in the sun room or kitchen. We ask that no dogs sleep in the bedroom, sitting room or garden room.
There is a wheelchair available to hire on request.
