Red Brick Cottage is a deceptively spacious Norfolk cottage with a lovely oak framed kitchen/garden room, beautifully presented in a contemporary coastal style for use as a private holiday home. It provides a perfect "home from home" for two couples or a family wishing to explore the delights of North Norfolk, with a secure fully enclosed garden overlooking open countryside. There's a lovely spacious living room with an exposed beamed ceiling and a wood-burning stove, as well as a separate sitting room with a comfy king-size sofa bed (which may be used for less mobile guests) and adjacent shower room. Upstairs there are two light and airy double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunk-beds. It is conveniently located in the heart of the rural village of Bircham, within walking distance of an excellent village shop, cafe, good pub and children's playground. The beautiful sandy beaches at Brancaster, Thornham and Holkham, plus the delightful shops in Burnham Market, may be reached within 15 minutes drive.

Ground Floor

KItchen/Garden room: a superb light and airy oak framed room with wooden floorboards and glazed doors leading to the garden. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Rangemaster stove with gas hob, wooden butcher's block, full height fridge/freezer, slim-line dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine.
There is a lovely sitting area with a dresser and two armchairs carefully positioned to enjoy the view of the garden.

There is the advantage of wi-fi throughout the cottage.

Living/Dining Room: beautifully presented room furnished in a contemporary coastal style with an exposed original beamed ceiling and a wood-burning stove. There is a large sofa and two extremely comfy armchairs, digital TV and DVD player. At the end nearest the kitchen is a large dining table with six upholstered dining chairs. A wooden highchair is available is required.

Inner Hall: with pamment tiled floor, storage cupboard with plenty of space for coats and boots storage. The staircase leads up from here.

Sitting Room/Bedroom: A second sitting room with a beamed ceiling, wood-burning stove and sofa which if required may be made-up as a comfortable king-size bed, ideal for those wishing to sleep downstairs. There is a built-in wardrobe, a TV and a good selection of games and books.

Shower room: walk-in shower, hand basin and WC.

First Floor

Bedroom 1: light and spacious room with a double bed, bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2: similar size to bedroom 1 with a double bed, bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 3: a smaller room with full-size bunk-beds.

There is a travel cot available for use if required.

Bathroom: modern bathroom has a bath with shower mixer taps, hand basin, WC and a heated towel rail.


There is a shingled drive at the front of the cottage and full height wooden gates leading to an additional shingled parking area in the garden.

The rear garden is fully fenced and therefore secure for children and dogs. There is a patio area and wooden sleepers leading to a raised lawn.

The cottage is within walking distance of a children's playground, good village shop, cafe and the Kings Head (excellent pub/hotel serving delicious food). There's also access to the Peddars Way and many other local walks. The beautiful coast at Brancaster, Holkham or Thornham, plus the delightful shops in Burnham Market, are within 15 minutes drive away. It is close to the royal Sandringham Estate and just 4 miles from Anmer where the new holiday house of Prince William & Kate!

5 night break: 90% of full week price

3/4/5 day short breaks are not usually available during school holiday periods.

Please note that where dogs are permitted the standard charge is £20.00 per week or part week; however some cottage owners request a higher amount and this will be specified in the individual property description.
