Beach

A popular destination for day trippers, renowned for its iconic striped cliffs and fabulous sun sets. ‘Sunny Hunny’ named locally being the only west facing seaside town. It’s a perfect destination to explore the rock pools and find beach treasure with children on the blue flag beach.

Village

There are a lot of beachside activities for the family with colourful seaside attractions including amusement arcades, fun fair, bowling alley, leisure pool, theatre, Sea-life Centre, Wash monster boat trips, crazy golf and pitch and putt. The town has a traditional Victorian charm with bandstand concerts on the green, array of gardens on a Hunstanton in Bloom horticultural trail with 14 gardens included as well as the tranquil Esplanade Gardens. In summer look out for the Tractor Train that carries visitors the length of the seafront. Hunstanton boast a range of events and festivals to enjoy throughout the year. It is a popular mecca for sports enthusiasts, windsurf and kite-surfers can often be seen planing the waves. 

History

Hunstanton’s recent history evolved during the Victorian Era and revolves around Henry Styleman Le Strange who decided to develop the south of Old Hunstanton as a bathing resort. The first main building is now named The Golden Lion. The town is a typical example of a 19th Century resort and much of this is still evident today.

Visit

Close to Norfolk Lavender in Heacham where you can take in the aromatic gardens, tea room, animal garden and play park. Just next door is a great farm shop and Farmer Freds for indoor farm themed play. For a real farm experience Snettisham Park Farm is nearby where you can feed the lambs or experience a deer safari. There are many wildlife centres with Snettisham Nature Reserve and Holme NWT nearby for quiet time in the hides.
