Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.
Visit
With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

Absolute gem of a cottage. Beautifully decorated & very well equipped. Garden is perfect for dogs. Would highly recommend thank you! The highlights of our stay would be visits to Socius restaurant in Burnham Market & The Crab Hut in Brancaster Staithe Harbour.
We found the cottage to be very comfortable, clean and warm. The location in Burnham Market was very convenient for exploring North Norfolk. The bed linen and comfort of the bed was exceptional. Loved the amenities in Burnham Market especially the Tuscan Farmshop and the Fishmongers!
Beautifully cosy cottage, really well appointed and spotlessly clean. Lovely welcoming touches from the owners. A super place to stay
Lovely little cottage on edge of Burnham Market. Mace convenience store, fish and chips, Chinese takeaway and petrol station very close by. Plenty of car parking near by. Walking from Wells Quay to the beach huts is a pleasant easy wall. Food a the Lord Nelson in Burnham Thorpe is good.
Sutton Cottage was an absolute delight. It had been decorated and furnished with such love, care and attention to detail. The property was spotlessly clean and although only a one bedroom cottage, the rooms were incredibly spacious (particularly the bathroom!). It was in a great location, just a short walk from Burnham Market but at the same time very peaceful. The highlights of our stay apart from the lovely cottage were walks on the beach and on the costal path with our four-legged friend and some wonderful meals out at various local eateries.
Lovely cottage ,well appointed, very clean, nice decor a great joy to stay there and hopefully a revisit Thanks Les and Mel. A great cottage to enjoy North Norfolk
We enjoyed our third stay in this pretty cottage, the bedroom and bathroom are stunning, especially the huge bath, love the french style decor. We also loved the thoughtful little touches such as the wine and snacks. Thank you.We spent the week walking and birdwatching and discovered 2 new walks, Dersingham bog and the circular Bayfield walk from Glandford. Hearing and nightjars at dusk on Kelling Heath was the highlight of our stay. We recommend Byfords in Holt for an evening meal and Ostrich Inn at South Creake. For a takeaway, the Mermaid fish and chips are very good.
Very cosy, stylish and welll equipped cottage. Close proximity to Burnham Market, great beaches and lovely towns/villages to visit.
