The first floor has two bedrooms and a family bathroom, with a further two double bedrooms on the top floor. Village

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

Visit

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

Our second visit to Skeet Cottage, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found some new places to explore and the weather has been lovely – a bonus in October! The cottage is lovely, as before – a characterful and comfortable home. Many thanks.

Thank you for a great welcome in your lovely cottage. Champagne and chocolates much appreciated, especially as we were celebrating a birthday this weekend! We’ve enjoyed the food and the views at The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe, the coffee and views at Blakeney Hotel, and the food at The Hero, Burnham Overy Staithe looked good although we only stopped for drinks! Altogether, a very enjoyable visit. Thank you!

Sheffield family, 10th of October 2014

A fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage. Going home feeling totally relaxed! Everything we could have wanted. A very big thank you.

Kelly, Martyn and Imogen, 9th of May 2014

Having visited Skeet Cottage some years ago we dreamed of returning and here we are. Fantastic stay in the best equipped and coziest cottage we have ever stayed in. Saturday evening playing board games beside the wood fire was the best. Excellent weather so maybe we enjoyed the first barbecue of the year. We leave with great reluctance but hope to be back next year. Thank you and so good to talk with you and hear the history of the building.

Topham & Day Families, 2nd of May 2014

Thanks for yet another week in your lovely cottage. Hope to return again.

Having tried many properties in Burnham, this is one of our favourites. Such a lovely cozy, homely feel and very well appointed. We’ve had a fantastic week. Breakfast at Creake Abbey is not to be missed. Holkham Hall and beach are beautiful as always. We have made many happy memories this week and will definitely be back. Thank you for the fizz and Easter eggs, much appreciated!

Thank you so much for a lovely weekend at Skeet Cottage. The weather was perfect, we had some great walks along the coast and found a lovely little tea shop in Stiffkey. We all highly recommend The Orange Tree at Thornham – delicious meals! Thanks once again. We hope to see you soon.

Electric Vehicle charging

Cars may only be charged if there is an EV charging point fitted at the property. The cost of electricity is NOT included in the rental price and Sowerbys Holiday Cottages must be notified if the charger is used and an additional surcharge will be made.
