Beach
A sought-after coastal holiday destination with unspoilt golden sandy beaches. The sand dunes, beach huts and pine trees separate the village from the dog friendly beach. The quieter Old Hunstanton is situated only a mile from Hunstanton town, with the beautiful stripy cliffs standing between the two sandy beaches.
Village
Home to the highly regarded links course of Hunstanton Golf Club which has an excellent 18-hole course. The village also boasts a range of great places to eat including the Michelin starred Neptune, The Lodge Hotel and Le Strange Arms. There's a well-stocked village shop and post office too.
History
The village of Old Hunstanton was named in the Domesday book at ‘Hunestanestada’, it later became part of the Le Strange family estates. The parish church of St Mary is situated in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall (Grade 1 listed) home to the Le Strange family for centuries.
Visit
A great area for walkers and cyclists, close to the Peddars Way footpath as well as the National Cycle Route and the neighbouring Hunstanton town and the quiet villages of Holme-next-the-Sea and Ringstead. Just a short drive away is the royal residence of Sandringham Estate. Further along the North Norfolk Coastal Path the pretty villages of Thornham and Brancaster can be found, with many nature reserves along the way including RSPB Titchwell. The pretty Georgian village of Burnham Market with a range of independent shops surrounding the leafy village green is also a popular destination.

Superb location - the beach is wonderful for walking the dog. The local pubs and hotels are very dog friendly. Highlights discovering Old Hunstanton Beach.
Lovely stay in a great location for the west side of the North Norfolk coast.
A very cosy, well appointed cottage which was clean and if a high standard. Crabbing at Wells, cycling at Holkham Hall, walks into Hunstanton and fish and chips. Excellent accommodation- owners very helpful and welcoming- Lego for our grandson especially appreciated!
Immaculate cottage, comfortable, with excellent facilties and well provided with crockery and utensils. The washing machine excellent as all facilities. The unexpected hamper of goodies was a bonus. Especially home made jam and crisps. The bath was deeep and long and the hot water plentiful. A joy at the end of the day when returning from a walk. The cottage was literally 5 minutes walk from the sandy beach, which meant that we were able to leave the car and walk each day in either coastal direction and inland. Buses were so useful as they went and returned from right outside.
Rosemary Cottage proved to be suitable accommodation for my wife and I and our son, his wife and 4 year old. The location was excellent for accessing Old Hunstanton beach. The cottage was clean and well presented for us. Brilliant Sunny Hunny weather, which made the beach and dunes an absolute pleasure. The access to the beach was very convenient and a real plus for Rosemary Cottage.
Compact little cottage in a great location. A shop for essentials and The Lodge pub are both 2 minutes walk away, with the beach and another pub only 5-10 mins away. Perfect! The location as mentioned was excellent and a real highlight of staying at Rosemary Cottage. We appreciated the smart TV. It's great to be able to log in to Netflix or Prime in the evenings and watch a movie with the kids when we've had enough of board games. We also met the lovely owner who was lovely and who let us check out late on departure which was extremely useful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rosemary Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and is ideally placed for easy access to the beach and local amenities. The generous welcome hamper was a lovely touch and really appreciated. We look forward to returning. We enjoyed walking our dog on the beach and the amazing sunsets .
The cottage is in a fabulous location. The living space while small was bigger than i had anticipated and was perfectly suitable for us and our two small children.
