Pinkleton Egmere
Sleeps 6, from £525 to £965 per week
Pinkleton was a traditional Norfolk farm cottage, built by the Holkham estate in 1875, which has been extensively refurbished by its owners (who are professional interior designers) and transformed into a beautifully presented second home, with a French country style influence. Downstairs there's a charming sitting/dining room with an open working fireplace and a cottage style well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are 3 lovely bedrooms: a wonderful master bedroom with open rural views, a pretty twin room and a bunk room ideal for children, plus a family bathroom. Outside there is a safe enclosed garden, mainly lawned, with garden furniture and a barbecue. It is located in a rural hamlet, just over a mile from the renowned Walsingham Farm Shop and the Norfolk Riddle restaurant. The coastal seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea is only 5 minutes drive away, with Holkham 10 minutes away and Burnham Market within 15 minutes.

At Pinkleton we liked most about the cottage was how well it was presented and decorated. how good the facilities were. The information in the property was very good and well organised.

We come to Norfolk every year from our overseas home in Dubai. This is definitely our favourite home to stay in. You have gorgeous beds/bedding and fixtures/fittings. I love your decor (particularly the pale grey colour). We will definitely come again. It is all so immaculate!

What a peaceful week we have had. We love the way the house is decorated.
We have had lazy afternoon BBQs and love the accessibility to Wells, Burnham, Blakeney etc. Quaint little house but big enough for our needs.

Thank you for providing a beautiful base for our first holiday in Norfolk. It has been an absolute treat. We loved Pinkleton Cottage and enjoyed visiting lots of local places of interest. The cream on the cake was the weather.
A very happy and memorable holiday.

Egmere
Location
Egmere is a rural hamlet approximately 4 miles from Wells-next-the-Sea, which is a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with fishing boats still berthed in this small harbour and stalls selling locally caught shrimps, crabs and whelks. A popular place with sailors with many sailing and leisure craft here and local sailing tuition available. Children enjoy the facilities round the quay and the challenge of crabbing (gillying) from the steep harbour wall.
The main shopping area of Wells is Staithe Street, a narrow, mostly pedestrianised lane with surviving Victorian and Edwardian shop fronts, that runs from the waters edge right up to the top part of town. In the centre of the town is The Buttlands which is a large rectangular green lined with Georgian and late Victorian houses, which used to be used for archery practise in medieval days. Now it is home to the excellent Crown hotel and restaurant which is run by Kiwi celebrity chef Chris Coubrough, as well as The Globe Inn owned by the Holkham estate.
The sandy beach flanked by pine forest is about a mile from the quay and can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.
Holkham Hall with its impressive 18th century Palladian architecture and 3,000 acre deer park is only a couple of miles away along the coast road.If you would like to see more of our holiday homes in and around the Norfolk coastal town of Egmere, please click here.
