Village

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

Visit

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

Lovely family cottage in a beautiful village and with easy access to some lovely beaches, villages and halls. We had stunning weather so the garden was a real treat.Well furnished cottage, with lots of kitchen equipment - just avoid the frying pan! The garden was excellent - we had a stunning week of weather so spent a good amount of time sitting and “playing” in it. The dining area was lovely for six adults and a baby in a high chair.

The Brashaw's, 10th of June 2024

One of our many return visits to this well equipped and well located cosy cottage. Big walks on the fantastic beaches. The local pubs. Daughter liked the tree house! Liked having books in the house to peruse.

The Humphrey's, 30th of November 2023

What a fabulous house! It’s very well setup and in a great location. Our boys loved the garden and tree house. The kitchen is well setup with plenty for hosting. Highlights BeWILDerwood and Wells beach. Outside shower was very handy for hosing down the children - you should add that to the listing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought Pebble Cottage was a cosy and extremely comfortable house for our family of four ( two adult daughters with us). We thought the customer service from Sowerbys was outstanding throughout the whole booking process.
