Village

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

Visit

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

We had the most lovely stay at no2 Pantiles. The cottage was beautiful , well cleaned, well decorated and had everything we needed for a fab weeks stay. There is so much to do within 30 mins drive so the location is just amazing. We had great fun at brancaster beach which is 15mins down the road, it is dog friendly. And the kids loved it too. Burnham market Is lovely to walk into theres a lovely walk with wild Holly Hock which us beautiful. We had a well needed break away from the norm. Our highlight was travelling to Holt to get the Poppy Line steam train to Sheringham. We had the liveliest day.

The Batter's, 14th of July 2023

I have no doubts in stating that this cottage was imaculate in every way. Exceptionally well furnished, with great attention being given to cleanliness and the requirements of the temporary residents. Every possible need was catered for, particularly within the kitchen area and the lounge area. The oven, microwave, toaster and other home appliances were all very satisfactory and easy to use. The large screen television was a very welcome amenity. The cottage was well situated for a short walk to the charming village of Burnham Market with amenities including a choice of public houses, coffee shops and a butcher, baker and fishmonger and a chinese take away and fish and chips take away a few minutes walk from the cottage. Pantiles provided every amenity required for the perfect holiday in North Norfolk. A delightful area for a relaxing holiday.
