Village

A small village hamlet which is one of seven Burnham villages named after the river Burn. This pretty little village is a walkers' paradise, placed on the edge of Norton Marsh which has a plethora of birds and wildlife making it an ideal quiet spot for bird watchers and those looking for a retreat. There are no shops, but there is a pretty round tower church and a little car park in Burnham Norton. Go on a superb 40 minute walk through the fields and marshes to the deserted Norton Beach.  During low tide the keen adventurers amongst you may wish to make your way across the waters to Scolt Head Island. The village is on many great little walking routes through The Burnhams, Wells, and Brancaster Coastal Path Walks. You can even leave the car and pop onto the Coastal Hopper bus that passes through the village.

Peaceful and quiet location and a warm welcome from the owner, with the very kind loan of a pair of wellies.Safe for dogs to stay once the drive gate was closed.Nearby wildlife in abundance.

Lovely cozy cottage in perfect location. Really friendly owners who helped us out whenever they could.

Kate & Richard, 21st of October 2022

Very good accommodation, we were able to keep warm, and the cottage had all needed to ensure an excellent stay so late in the season. The surrounding Beaches were close and excellent for our small dog to enjoy. A lovely welcome by Nick the owner, who introduced himself by presenting us with a bottle of wine, very welcoming.

Garden was excellent and the owners delightful. Bottle of fizz was a welcome treat! It gets a 4 for location, peacefulness, owner and the garden! A great dog-friendly cottage.

Norton Cottage had plenty of character (old), nice garden and wonderful location which we liked. 10 for the garden we would stay again!

The Pugh's, 16th of April 2021

We likes the cottage, location was very quiet. Comfortable all round and what we would expect from a traditional Norfolk Cottage. The wood burning stove was nice to have in the winter. The site details were up to date as were the pictures and was nice and clean. We wuld stay at Norton Cottage again!

The Stockbridges', 10th of December 2020

The cottage is very pretty, comfortably furnished and in a lovely position on the edge of the marshes. Wonderful walks from the doorstep. Close to Burnham Overy Staithe which is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. We had a very enjoyable week. We had a great time, thank you 😊

Everything. the lovely, well equipped cottage, the large garden and its location, its closeness to nature. - We have stayed there for the fourth time now, so we knew what to expect. But that we always come back shows that the cottage is really lovely and well-equipped and we always enjoy our stay there. The owners are very friendly and helpful. we will certainly come back!
