Floorplan

Beach

A sought-after coastal holiday destination with unspoilt golden sandy beaches. The sand dunes, beach huts and pine trees separate the village from the dog friendly beach. The quieter Old Hunstanton is situated only a mile from Hunstanton town, with the beautiful stripy cliffs standing between the two sandy beaches.

Village

Home to the highly regarded links course of Hunstanton Golf Club which has an excellent 18-hole course. The village also boasts a range of great places to eat including the Michelin starred Neptune, The Lodge Hotel and Le Strange Arms. There's a well-stocked village shop and post office too.

History

The village of Old Hunstanton was named in the Domesday book at ‘Hunestanestada’, it later became part of the Le Strange family estates. The parish church of St Mary is situated in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall (Grade 1 listed) home to the Le Strange family for centuries.

Visit

A great area for walkers and cyclists, close to the Peddars Way footpath as well as the National Cycle Route and the neighbouring Hunstanton town and the quiet villages of Holme-next-the-Sea and Ringstead. Just a short drive away is the royal residence of Sandringham Estate. Further along the North Norfolk Coastal Path the pretty villages of Thornham and Brancaster can be found, with many nature reserves along the way including RSPB Titchwell. The pretty Georgian village of Burnham Market with a range of independent shops surrounding the leafy village green is also a popular destination.

Lovely views of wildlife from upstairs windows. Beach within walking distance.

The Wood's, 18th of September 2023

We had an excellent family holiday in Mandalay . The location near the beach is wonderful and the house is comfortable and light with a good wrap around garden for children to play safely .. We liked the beach chairs and windbreak to take to the beach .We liked the well equipped kitchen and the welcome pack

The Drew's, 18th of August 2023

This is a very well-positioned house for all the amenities of Old Hunstanton with a short walk to the beach, several places to eat and the interesting art, craft and antiques centre. Visiting the beach, nearby Sandringham, Norfolk Lavender and the coastal path walks. Crazy golf in Hunstanton, good food at Caley Hall and The Lodge.

The Craigen's, 22nd of June 2023

The house is lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. There were only 2 minor issues, both en-suite showers sprayed water everywhere due to open doors and and the frying pans and wok badly need replacing. The beds were so comfy, we slept like logs.

The Clare's, 20th of June 2023

Excellent accommodation and location for a one-week seaside break for our family (three generations)

The Newmans, 5th of May 2023

Myself my husband and two small dogs had a lovely stay at the cottage the initial problem with the keys was quickly sorted. The kitchen in particular was a really nice roomy area and the wall TV was great . I have some mobility issues so the ground floor bedroom was a real bonus. It was good being so close to the beach and we had some very windy but lovely strolls along the beach . Being within walking distance of the village shop and their breakfast croissants and the Lodge restaurant, also the Ancient Mariner for meals/snacks was all very handy.

Fantastic house we are sad to leave. The week has gone quickly and we would definitely stay again. Only thing would be an outside tap to fill the kids pool.
