Heron Cottage is a spacious detached much-loved Norfolk family holiday home, enviably situated in a peaceful coastal location in the highly sought after village of Thornham, away from busy roads, with easy access to the coastal path. Throughout the year, this is simply the perfect place to accommodate family groups, having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, with plenty of separate living areas for all generations to enjoy, including a lovely kitchen breakfast room with an Aga, large conservatory games room (with upstairs children's room) and a cosy sitting sitting room with an open fireplace. During the winter it's ideal for two or three couples wishing to explore the beauty of the stunning Norfolk coastline, with the advantage of being within walking distance of several excellent places to eat and drink. Outside at the back of the house is a lovely large south facing lawned garden with plenty of space for children to play or adults to relax, with ample off-road parking space for cars and boats at the front.

Ground Floor
Entrance is via the side of the house into a hall where there's plenty of space for coats and boots storage.
Games room: a wonderful light and airy room overlooking the garden which has a pool table, sofa and a large plasma TV. There are two Fat Boy beanbags for use indoors or out. There is a spiral staircase leading from here into:
Shower room: with a walk-in shower, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Kitchen: lovely light and airy kitchen with open views heading towards the sea. It is well-equipped and has an electric Aga, dishwasher, Smeg fridge/freezer, microwave, drinks fridge and Nespresso coffee machine. There is a dining table with eight chairs. The kitchen leads directly through to into a central sitting area:
Central sitting area: has a comfy L-shaped sofa and a TV.
Sunroom: with a sofa and two armchairs providing the perfect spot to sit and look out over the attractive rear garden. There are French doors to the garden.
Utility/Wet Room: This leads off from the central sitting area and has a washing machine & tumble dryer just outside the Wet Room: shower, heated towel rail and WC.
Sitting Room: an archway leads to this charming cosy room at the end of the house. It has a working open fireplace making it an ideal quiet place to retreat to with two sofas and an armchair.
First Floor
Stairs are not steep and there is a hand-rail. All three bedrooms are light and airy with lovely open views from the front of the house across towards the marshes and out to sea.
Bedroom 1: spacious room with a king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe. En-suite bathroom: bath with shower mixer taps, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Bedroom 2: another good-sized room with twin beds, bedside table and lamp, built-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3: with twin beds, bedside table and lamp, chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe..
Family Bathroom: has a bath with shower mixer taps, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.
First Floor Above Games Room
Children's Room (Bedroom 4): Accessed from the games room via a spiral staircase leading directly into the room perfect for teenagers to escape with a selection of toys and games, full-size bunk beds, two single beds, blackout blinds and a sofa. *Note this room has no door.
Heating is by thermostatically controlled storage heaters and electric heaters.
Outside
Heron Cottage is located along The Green which is a lovely quiet location away from the coast road. There is a large grassed area immediately outside the house with plenty of parking space for cars and boats.
There is a large private rear garden which is mainly lawned and well-maintained with a good variety of shrubs and plants. There is a gas bbq for guest use. It is within walking distance of the Norfolk coastal path and all of Thornham's amenities which include a choice of excellent pubs, children's play area, tennis court, Thornham deli and cafe.
Please note that although this property will not accept dogs, the owners do have one dog who stays here.

There is a beautiful unspoilt beach for those willing to hike the mile or so out along the coastal
In the centre of the village, locally caught seafood is served at the award winning Orange Tree gastro pub, opposite All Saints church which is an impressive building with 15th century foundations. Thornham has a third good place to eat - The Chequers Inn which serves delicious home-cooked pizzas and is ideal for families.
Thornham has a great range of local amenities with the excellent Thornham deli, shop and cafe, a childrens' playground and a tennis court.
Just along the coast road heading towards Hunstanton is Drove Orchards which opens seasonally for the sale of a wide range of locally sourced fresh foods from its award-winning farm shop, has an amazingly wide variety of pick-your-own fruits, fishmonger, lifestyle shopping, plant nursery and play area..
One of Norfolk's best places for fish and chips is Eric's Fish & Chips (behind Drove Orchards) which is owned and run by a chef formerly at Titchwell Manor. It offers delicious freshly cooked fish and chips to eat in or takeaway.
