Guest Reviews

It was homely and comfortable, very well equipped and exceptionally clean for a holiday let.

The Collards - 21/09/2018

This is an excellent, well maintained cottage, set in a small village. The village has a useful shop and a good (if a little expensive) pub. A delightful cottage, that I could not fault. Very well equipped. Thoughtful things like books & games provided.

Wiggins pary - 10/08/2018

Very homely. Comfortable. Good decor. Quiet location. Could not fault. One of the best properties we have stayed at.

- 19/07/2018

A great weekend kicked off with Louis' fish curry. Up early Saturday with a walk down the beach at Thornham. Back for breakfast and then a drive down the coast. Inland to Holt shopping, afternoon tea at Byfords. First use of Norfolk Passport in 6 years. Beer in the Lifeboat and then more in the Gin Trap. Back for dinner, fish and steak etc. Sunday brunch then over to Houghton Hall to see the Damien Hirst Spots. Local lad from Leeds got a D at Art. Round to sister in laws for dinner then back to Yorkshire early Monday morning. Brilliant! Fantastic cottage, would come again!

The Barkers - 29/05/2018

Wonderful home, really well equipped from the kitchen through to the games. Great memories made - ate at The Lighthouse and the White Horse in Brancaster Staithe. Great walking tips in the house guide. Thank you!

The McElligotts - 16/04/2018

Felt like home from home and had everything we needed.

Very warm on the arctic weather weekend.

Frances Snell - 16/03/2018

Second stay at Hare Cottage. Welcome Pack a lovely welcoming touch, especially the dog treats. One of the best Sowerbys cottages we have stayed at. We have found it well equipped and well maintained. Try The Hero Pub in Burnham Overy Staithe - really nice!!

The Breslins - 23/02/2018

Having stayed with Sowerbys Holiday Cottages over 15 times this is the best house we have stayed in.

Wilcockson Party - 10/02/2018

A wonderful cottage.

Cheesemans' - 29/12/2017

The usual 5 star condition.
Well furnished and very comfortable.

Lloyd Party - 24/11/2017

We have all had a fabulous week. We stay in Norfolk quite a bit and this is the best, by far, cottage that we have stayed in.

It makes a huge difference to find tea towels, oil, S&P, kitchen roll etc. waiting for you. And plentiful proper stuff to make a fire rather than 3 damp logs and no kindling.

The welcome pack was really good. Excellent exploring with the dogs.

Mortimer -Cassen Family including Juno & Milo - 30/10/2017

Beautiful Cosy Cottage in a lovely location.

Watson Party - 20/10/2017

If there was an award for the best cottage in Norfolk Hare Cottage would win hands down.
The Cottage is well furnished more that adequately equipped and is perfectly positioned to explore this part of Norfolk.

Lloyd Party - 22/09/2017

A fantastic cottage. I would definitely recommend Sowerbys Holiday Cottages.

This cottage was very clean, ideally located and very homey.

Esses Party - 18/08/2017

2017 was our seventh consecutive annual holiday in Norfolk and Hare Cottage is definitely the best we have stayed in.

It felt so welcoming, with a bigger garden than we expected.

We would certainly stay there again.

Ringstead

Location

An attractive village approximately 2 miles inland from Holme with pink and white-washed cottages built in traditional Norfolk carrstone. A rare Norman round tower, all that survives of St. Peter's church, stands in the grounds of the former rectory.

A good village for walkers with access onto the Peddars Way, the Courtyard Farm walks and also the lovely Ringstead Downs nature reserve. Ringstead has an excellent village shop stocking a wide range of products and there is an excellent 17th original coaching inn, The Gin Trap, which serves delicious food and great wines and beers, as well as a fantastic selection of different gins!
