Village

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from… The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village.

Visit

With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe. If big houses are your thing there are many others to visit with Houghton Hall and its fantastic sculpture collection, the house and grounds of Royal Sandringham to name a few! Get on the water, there are many activities from kite and windsurfing in Hunstanton, sailing in Brancaster Staithe, seal and boat trips from Brancaster and Wells, or take a beautiful trip on The Coastal Exploration Company and learn about the wildlife, trading and smuggling in the salt marshes or along the coast.

Lovely little cottage with great character. Perfect location

Philippa Wyllie, 31st of August 2023

This is our third stay in Burnham market and we will most definitely be back. Watching this pretty place come to life in the morning and having breakfast in one of the many eateries is my highlight not to mention Bar twenty 9and the cocktails!!🩷

The melodys, 18th of August 2023

We enjoyed another visit to Flint Cottage, Burnham Market and surrounding area (our third stay in Flint). The location of the cottage is perfect for making the most of the village and the rest of North Norfolk too. During our long weekend we walked, ran and cycled, pottered in Burnham Market, visited some 'Open Studios', the monthly Farmers Market at Creake, the coast at Brancaster and Thornham along with coffee/cake stops and ate at The White Horse.

The Hipwell's, 27th of June 2023

Very happy to return to Flint Cottage for the new year weekend. The cottage provides an excellent location from which to enjoy all that Burnham Market has to offer, along with the wider north norfolk coastal area. We walked the beaches at Brancaster, Thornham and Morston Quay to Blakeney, relaxed over a coffee in various delis, cycled and ran locally and enjoyed a meal at The White Horse, Brancaster.

Better than Expected Although smaller than expected, design was superb. 10 out of 10 for cleanliness Loved the clever use of space. Design of cottage brilliant. Possibly too many cushions? Really comfortable stay.

Jane Riddell, 8th of March 2019

The house was really beautifully renovated and much cosier than I thought it would be. The location was amazing, and I loved how snug and peaceful it was. In spite of the fact that it was on a main road, it was really quiet and peaceful, I found it really easy to relax.
