Sitting Room: a charming room at the other end of the cottage with an original beamed ceiling and a wonderful large inglenook working fireplace. There is a leather sofa, 2 armchairs, a well-stocked bookcase and table lamps.

First Floor

There are two staircases in Dogger Inn: the main staircase from the hall is fairly steep (with a fixed hand rail on one side and a rope hand rail on the other side), whilst the second staircase is a very steep Norfolk winder staircase and should only be used with care (it is not necessary to use this second staircase!)

All bedrooms are beautifully presented and supplied with luxurious bed linen and towels.

Bedroom 1: A gorgeous master bedroom which really does have the "wow factor" with its high ceiling with exposed beams and cleverly designed en-suite bathroom. There is a king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, dressing table and carefully constructed built-in cupboards to provide plenty of storage space. From the sleeping area it leads directly into the en-suite bathroom: with free-standing bath, walk-in shower, stone wash basin, hand basin and WC.

Bedroom 2: A second double room which has a leather double bed, bedside table and lamps and a wardrobe.

Bedroom 3: Has new upholstered twin beds, a wardrobe and a storage unit.

Bathroom: an attractive blue and white tiled room with a bath with shower mixer taps, hand basin, heated towel rail and a WC.

There is a door to the second steep winding staircase which leads down from the far end of the landing.

Please note that a travel cot and highchair are available at this property.

Outside

There is the advantage of private off-street parking for one car in a low roofed cart shed, but care should be taken when parking taller vehicles.

There is a west facing fully enclosed and sheltered lawned garden with a patio area, garden furniture and a barbecue, making this an ideal spot for an evening drink or supper to enjoy the evening's sunshine.

Dogger Inn is perfectly located to stroll down to the sandy beaches at Wells and Holkham. It's only 2 minutes walk to the quay and the beach can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.

It is within walking distance of all of Wells' shops and other amenities, such as the renowned Crown Hotel and the newly restored Golden Fleece on the harbour.

Guest Reviews

very large and airy and my small dogs managed to get around well despite many steps, sports room was a bonus Beautiful maintained and decorated building

Hornbuckle - 06/07/2018

The property looked better than the photos on the website, so we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely the place was.The downstairs space was excellent with different rooms available to meet the needs of the party; we especially liked the Games Room, though we think it might benefit from the addition of a Darts Board! We thought the Garden Space was excellent too, and really safe for our Pet Dog Nellie.

Wells-next-the-Sea

Location

Wells-next-the Sea is the runaway winner of the first Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" award. It's a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with fishing boats still berthed in this small harbour and stalls selling locally caught shrimps, crabs and whelks. A popular place with sailors with many sailing and leisure craft here and local sailing tuition available. Children enjoy the facilities round the quay and the challenge of crabbing (gillying) from the steep harbour wall.

The main shopping area of Wells is Staithe Street, a narrow, mostly pedestrianised lane with surviving Victorian and Edwardian shop fronts, that runs from the water's edge right up to the top part of town. In the centre of the town is The Buttlands which is a large rectangular green lined with Georgian and late Victorian houses, which used to be used for archery practise in medieval days. Now it is home to the excellent Crown hotel and restaurant which is run by Kiwi celebrity chef Chris Coubrough, as well as the popular The Globe Inn.

The sandy beach flanked by pine forest is about a mile from the quay and can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.

Holkham Hall with its impressive 18th century Palladian architecture and 3,000 acre deer park is only a couple of miles away along the coast road.
