Virginia Cottage

We enjoyed our stay and were most grateful to Sowerbys for arranging our stay at such short notice over a busy holiday period. The property is in a quiet area. We enjoyed the fire. The Christmas tree and the welcome pack with Christmas chocolates were all a lovely festive touch.Towels and linen and bedding were clean and of a good standard.

Second stay. Comfortable well equipped quiet cottage in a good location to visit the coast and inland villages. Good to have off road parking viewable from the lounge window too. Warm and comfortable despite Storm Ciaran.

Another lovely stay at Virginia cottage. Weather very reasonable for October. Cottage super as usual. We all had a lovely stay. Weather good for the time of year, cottage great to come back to in an evening.

Virginia Cottage was a great cottage to stay in with all necessary items provided and very clean. There was a nice welcome pack including a lovely cake to greet us on arrival. The location is ideal with easy access to all the local beaches and walking distance to the shop and pub. There were plenty of options available for walking our two dogs and the garden was a real place of tranquility at the end of a busy day. Would recommend this cottage and we will certainly be returning. Walks on Brancaster beach, Thornham beach and Hunstanton beach were great with our dogs and food at the Jolly Sailors, Lifeboat Inn and the White Horse was great. Great Bircham is a nice village with plenty of walking available and a great cafe at Bircham Windmill.

We love this cottage and have started coming twice a year. It’s perfectly located with Brancaster Beach a few minutes away and the wonderful Drive Orchards at Thornham for a great dinner spot for the kids. The enclosed garden is perfect, and a space we really enjoy spending time in the summer. Can’t wait to be back!

Very enjoyable. Cottage - delightful, spotless, comfortable, welcoming. Superb bed and lovely bed linen! Very well equipped. Blistering temperatures somewhat slowed things down (especially with a dog with a heavy coat!). But very grateful for the Easterly, cooling breeze at the coast. Great help from Sowerbys office in finding a repair garage in Burnham Market to recharge our air-con!

Lovely and relaxing week at Virginia Cottage, all that you could ask for, peaceful, warm, clean and comfortable. Weather was kind to us, many sunny walks on the coast. All the usual favourites visited . Some lovely stalls with tea and cake at Docking Manor.

A fabulous place to stay, Delightful cottage, pretty garden, and all within reach of glorious beaches, and wonderful eateries. What more could you want ...Thank you, will definitely recommend to others.

We absolutely loved this cottage! It was so pretty and really warm and cosy. Lovely garden too. We really enjoyed lighting the real fireplace when we returned each evening after a day of beach walks and exploring. The cottage had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Kitchen was fully equipped. Lovely bathroom and really comfortable, enormous bed! Docking is a fabulous village and just a short drive to the beaches Brancaster, Holkham and Hunstanton. The local shop stocks everything too. We will definitely return.

We had a lovely time in this very cosy cottage. Brancaster beach is beautiful and we recommend the high ropes course at Holkham. The beds are lovely and we had a wonderful time playing in the sunny garden. We hope to come back soon.

The best cottage in docking to date, well appointed and well looked after. Relations in the area so know it very well. Shame we had to cut short our stay but will be back in a few months.

An amazing week, weather was wonderful. Some fabulous walks- Snettisham woods, Nature trail at Sandringham, Blakeney and Holkham to wells. A beautiful part of the world and a lovely cottage - Will be back with our dogs.

We've been coming to Norfolk for yeas and this by far our favourite cottage! The garden is fabulous especially with two young children. Beautiful location and very clean. Our greatest find this time was Drove Orchards down the road (Erics Pizzeria and fish & chips, and ice cream). Also the new cafe at North Creake Abbey. Brancaster beach as always has been a huge hit. We will be back!

Another week here and the cottage doesn't disappoint us, Its perfect in every way and so was the weather. Lovely 6 1/2 mile walk round the courtyard farm. Blakeney point was full of seals and their pups, great coastal walks and pub meals, the perfect holiday. I'm sure we will be back again.

We have enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage which has been so thoughtfully refurbished, decorated and equipped, to a very high standard. The attention to detail shown in this cottage beats many others we have stayed in. Thank you for the good beds, luxury bedding, the helpful notes, and labels on the light switches, the well-chosen range of reading material and the excellent supply of maps and much more which contributed to a lovely holiday, We hope to stay here again. We had a wonderful few days in this lovely cosy cottage. The garden is beautiful and the house is really well equipped. Beautiful costal walks, trip to castle acre and crabbing at wells. We will be back!

Very good well presented cottage. 2 Lovely gardens. Well located for visiting North Norfolk.Quiet location. Stayed in this property about ten years ago so we knew it was a good choice.

On arrival the cottage was immaculately clean. The cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in actually. Cleanliness of the property was 10 out of 10. State of the garden was 10 out of 10. It had a very homely feel to it and we would definitely stay again.

Better than Expected It was beautifully thought out, clean, warm, homely and extremely well equipped. 10 out of 10 for cleanliness 10 out of 10 for the garden Cosy, well equipped, they had thought of everything. It is also ideally situated for the parts of Norfolk we love to visit.

I just wanted to let you know that we were thrilled with this cottage which we stayed in for a week from 25th August. I had my American cousins staying and they were so impressed both with the cottage and the location. It was incredibly clean & homely, and the welcome cake was lovely. Please pass on our thanks to whoever prepared and maintains this property.

'We had a wonderful time at this cosy, comfortable and extremely practical cottage-ideal for us and our two Cocker Spaniels. Both, front and back garden are dog proof-our little Houdini didn't stand a chance! On arrival we found home made cake which was a lovely touch. The level of cleanliness was outstanding-the cleanest holiday property we have ever stayed at! Docking is perfectly positioned for visiting other nice places in Norfolk and the local Spar shop, one minute's walk from the cottage, is open 7 days a week, 6am-10pm (also a post office) and the staff is very friendly. Thank you to the owners/caretaker/cleaner for providing such a lovely place! We hope to return ourselves and have already recommended!"
