Pleasant Place is a spacious 150 year old cottage hidden away in the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea.  It has the advantage of a large sitting room with adjoining dining room, separate kitchen and light garden room.  It has an attractive walled garden which is lawned with a variety of plants and shrubs.

Ground Floor

Entrance Porch: With coat hooks.
Sitting Room:  Light and spacious room with wood burning stove, 2 sofas, armchair, TV, DVD.  Leads into . . .
Dining Room:  Table seating 6.  Leads through into . . .
Kitchen:   Well-equipped with dishwasher, gas double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer.
Garden Room:  Light room with French doors to garden, round table and chairs (perfect breakfast room).
Utility/Shower Room:  Hand basin, WC, walk-in shower, washing machine and tumble dryer.

First Floor

Stairs are not steep and there is a banister.
Bedroom 1:  King-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, built-in wardrobe and shelves.
Bedroom 2:  Twin beds, chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3:  Single guest bed with additional bed stored underneath.
Bathroom:  Bath with shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside

Attractive, private south facing walled garden which is mainly lawned. Although there is no dedicated parking space, it is usually possible to park on Standard Road close to the cottage. It is only a few minutes walk to the quay or to the town centre.  Sorry, but dogs are not permitted.

Wells-next-the-Sea

Location

A delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with fishing boats still berthed in this small harbour and stalls selling locally caught shrimps, crabs and whelks. A popular place with sailors with many sailing and leisure craft here and local sailing tuition available. Children enjoy the facilities round the quay and the challenge of crabbing (gillying) from the steep harbour wall.

The main shopping area of Wells is Staithe Street, a narrow, mostly pedestrianised lane with surviving Victorian and Edwardian shop fronts, that runs from the water’s edge right up to the top part of town. In the centre of the town is The Buttlands which is a large rectangular green lined with Georgian and late Victorian houses, which used to be used for archery practise in medieval days. Now it is home to the excellent Crown hotel and restaurant which is run by Kiwi celebrity chef Chris Coubrough, as well as The Globe Inn owned by the Holkham estate.

The sandy beach flanked by pine forest is about a mile from the quay and can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.

Holkham Hall with its impressive 18th century Palladian architecture and 3,000 acre deer park is only a couple of miles away along the coast road.

4 night break: 80% of full week price
5 night break: 90% of full week price

3/4/5 day short breaks are not usually available during school holiday periods.
