Pink Cottage Egmere

Sleeps 7, from £455 to £895 per week

Pink Cottage was a traditional Norfolk farm cottage, built by the Holkham estate in 1875, which has been extensively refurbished by the current owners. It has now been transformed into a beautiful, contemporary holiday home and is thoughtfully equipped and tastefully furnished to a high standard. Downstairs there's a lovely sitting room with wood-burning stove, a smart contemporary kitchen with a conservatory providing a light and spacious dining area, overlooking the private garden. Upstairs there are 3 lovely bedrooms; a wonderful master bedroom with open rural views, a pretty twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom with an additional trundle bed for children. Outside there is a fully enclosed west facing lawn and decked garden with a summerhouse. Pink Cottage is located in a rural hamlet, just over a mile from the renowned Walsingham Farm Shop and the Norfolk Riddle restaurant. The coastal seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea is only 5 minutes' drive away, with Holkham 10 minutes away and Burnham Market within 15 minutes.

Pink Cottage is adjacent to Pinkleton, so the 2 cottages may be rented together to accommodate up to 12.

Please note that should only one bedroom be used, a discount of £50 can be added and a £25 discount added should only 2 bedrooms be used.

We had a most enjoyable time at your lovely Pink Cottage. All of our needs were more than adequately catered for! It is always disappointing when holidays come to an end!

What is there to say that hasn't been said before. A well appointed property, everything is here.

The Pitt Family - 12/08/2016

Thank you so much for our time in your beautiful and well equipped cottage. We cannot fault it and it has made our holiday to stay here. The area is stunning, a little haven of tranquillity. Our children loved the Holkham Estate, the play area and beach. We have had the most fantastic time, this home is a haven. Thank you.

Ogden Family and Crunchie the dog - 08/04/2016

Have had a lovely time in the cottage, arrived a bit early and met one of the cleaners. She did a superb job, the cottage was lovely and clean. We've been coming to Norfolk for many years now and it hasn't lost any of its appeal. Best beaches are Holkham and Brancaster. Archie the dog has had an amazing time.

Wilson Family and Archie the dog - 04/09/2015

Couple from Brighton - 22/06/2015

We love the way the cottage has been decorated, very relaxing with lovely furnishings and fabrics. It is a great place to get together with friends. We followed a treasure trail around Walsingham and walked some of the North Norfolk Coastal path. The Walsingham holy water and Pink Cottage revived us!

Party of 6 adult friends - 05/06/2015

This is our second time here and it's absolutely amazing! The beds are really comfy and the conservatory is beautiful. The cleaners do a great job and the two bathrooms make it easier at bedtime. A brilliant stay.

A Happy Family with Maple the dog - 01/06/2015

We've had a lovely time at the cottage. Excellent food at the White Horse in Blakeney. Hopefully we will be back soon!

The Watson Family - 29/05/2015

Thank you, we couldn't have hoped for a nicer place to stay during our first visit to Norfolk. A lovely relaxing week. There was even a peacock in the garden one morning, we suspect an escapee from the Holkham Estate!

Jeremy, Vicky and Bronwyn the dog - 07/05/2015

Another lovely stay, we had so much fun and the weather was fantastic. The cottage is great with comfy beds and everything we needed for our stay. We look forward to returning in the summer,

Cottage lovely, clean and well equipped. We had a lovely time and ate our way through Norfolk going home half a stone heavier? We really appreciated the welcome pack; what a lovely touch. Thank you. Good value - we would definitely come back.

Cheryl, Nicola, Ray & Jean - 05/09/2014

We are so glad that we booked this cottage. It looked inviting on the website and certainly lived up to expectations. We have been coming to North Norfolk for the last nine years adn Pink Cottage is definitely the most comfortable cottage we have rented. Stylish yet homely decor, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen and shed.

The Lees Family, Devises - 29/08/2014

A lovely cottage. The beds are so comfortable. We give this cottage a rating of 10 out of 10! It is very well equipped and we loved the conservatory; we spent most of our time in there. We'll be back! Recommended eateries: The Walsingham Fish & Chip Shop, The Dun Cow at Salthouse and Byfords in Holt. Holkham Beach is great for dog walking!

A beautiful cottage, cosy, homely and we had a wonderful time. A few days too early for the snowdrops (at Walsingham Abbey) but we enjoyed the beach, the Pirate Park at Wells Next The Sea and Holkham grounds.

Egmere is a rural hamlet approximately 4 miles from Wells-next-the-Sea, which is a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with fishing boats still berthed in this small harbour and stalls selling locally caught shrimps, crabs and whelks. A popular place with sailors with many sailing and leisure craft here and local sailing tuition available. Children enjoy the facilities round the quay and the challenge of crabbing (gillying) from the steep harbour wall.

The main shopping area of Wells is Staithe Street, a narrow, mostly pedestrianised lane with surviving Victorian and Edwardian shop fronts, that runs from the waters edge right up to the top part of town. In the centre of the town is The Buttlands which is a large rectangular green lined with Georgian and late Victorian houses, which used to be used for archery practise in medieval days. Now it is home to the excellent Crown hotel and restaurant which is run by Kiwi celebrity chef Chris Coubrough, as well as The Globe Inn owned by the Holkham estate.

The sandy beach flanked by pine forest is about a mile from the quay and can be reached by road, on foot along the causeway or via the miniature railway.

Holkham Hall with its impressive 18th century Palladian architecture and 3,000 acre deer park is only a couple of miles away along the coast road.
