Island House is an outstanding barn conversion with fantastic views
across the marshes and out to sea. It is owned and designed by an award-winning
architect and is a truly exceptional home which has been carefully decorated to a very
high standard. It has been imaginatively designed with many internal 'curves' in the
style of a boat, and has large gardens running down to the shore, with access to the
coastal path and within a short walk of the staithe.
Accommodation
Ground Floor:
Entrance hall with stone floor,
contemporary stair and overhead bridge.
Kitchen: Light and spacious with stunning marsh and sea
views. Newly fitted and well-equipped with large range cooker, microwave,
fridge/freezer, TV and CD. Extendable oak dining table and chairs to seat 10,
additional bench seating. Doors opening onto decking area overlooking the marshes.
Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, WC and hand
basin.
First Floor:
Curved boat-style walk way - all wooden floorboards.
Sitting Room: Lovely beamed room with a balcony overlooking
the marshes and sea, comfortable sofas, window seats, fireplace, bookcase, TV/DVD.
Bedroom 1: With east-facing balcony, double bed, bedside
tables and lamps, beamed ceiling, chest of drawers and en-suite bathroom with
power shower, wash basin and WC.
Bedroom 2 and 3: Both with twin beds, bedside tables and
lamps, chest of drawers (a cot is available if required).
Bedroom 4: Double bed, beamed ceiling, bedside tables and
lamps, chest of drawers, armchair.
Bathroom: High pressure power shower, bath, wash basin, WC, heating towel
rail.
Up steep staircase to Bedroom 5 (Boat Room):
Accessed via a steep staircase with 2 full sized single futons built into
the side of the 'hull' shaped walls. An adjoining landing with chest
of drawers. Ideal for children over 5.
Island House has oil central heating and a telephone.
Sorry, no pets allowed.
Outside:
Spacious gardens,
running down to the shore, with east facing walled garden and teak decking
area. Access to the shore is through adjoining field. Garden
furniture, gas barbecue, garage with extra fridge. Plenty of parking
for cars and boats. The house is set well back from the coast road down a
short drive.
